Engine won't run properly then dies and won't start without charge
No electrical accessories work, then engine just won't go, can't shift from park. put in new battery, starts and runs fine for about 10 miles, then starts acting like low power and just won't go, then stalls. Will not restart without a quick charge, then runs fine for a couple miles and stalls again with no electrical working, (e.g. radio, power windows, ac fan, lights, etc..., except for power seat, it would move.

Feb 11, 2006 - engine dies when shifting into reverse or drive ... After it dies it starts right up and idles fine in park or neutral. ... these ignition items because you weretrying to cure the stalling, or, did the stalling occur after you replaced these items? ...The only thing that kept the car running was adjusting the Idle screw up.

Just to give an update on my car - I've been having an issue with the car stalling when moving from Park into Reverse or Drive (I have automatic). ... I have been playing with the idle advance trying to get more ... I put in the remainder of the AT fluid I had on hand and the car never died on shifting after that.
It most likely is having trouble with the charging system not producing enough power to the accessories on the car, causing extra strain on the engine making it die.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Launch X-431 IV Auto Scanner
It`s not uncommon to have a faulty unit, try voltage test on battery with engine running and all the electric`s you can switch on it should be putting out 13-15 volts at the battery also check belt tension...
I would start with which fuses you blew in the fuse box. That will give you an indication on which areas to look hard at. It sounds like you had an electrical fire and that now you have multiple fuse blown with other damage. DON'T REPLACE THE FUSES until you have found the problem that caused them to blow.
It sounds like there is a problem with the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. Its job is to open and let air into the manifold when the throttle is closed at idle. If it does not open, the engine dies at idle. The IAC is mounted on the throttle body. Possibly the valve is clogged or stuck, in which case it could be ok again if it is removed and cleaned. Or it is broken, and needs to be replaced. Or, there is a problem with its electrical connection, that needs to be traced. Good luck, let me know if you have any questions.
did you have the battery checked also? did you reconnect all wires to the alternator? sometimes there is an electrical connector that plugs into the alternator. If this is unplugged in the alternator will not charge the battery and car will die once battery is dead.
while in park, press shifter firmly even farther above park. Hold shifter and turn key. The linkage may need adjusting. If this does not help the situation, then the pins inside the ignition are not getting pressed down because key is getting worn. You can try to tap around the ignition lightly with hammer to shake the pins loose.
