2004 isuzu rodeo 3.5l fuel injector removal instructions


no job stated, just 1 injector,? pull?
which bank or both, matters........
same as all fuel rail injectors.really....cept access.

1: do the fuel depressurize steps in the service manual.
2: battery neg lug off.
3: gain access to the rail. (obvious , sorry) intake man pulled!
remove, fuel line and cross over,fuel lineis on right bank only.
4:remove the injector connectors, or if one,just one.
5: remove the injector rail 3 rail bolts or 6 if both banks.
6: they are now free.
this one photo makes it obvious.... no?

If plug an plug wire has been replaced , an dist. cap an rotor an problem is still there ,maybe a fuel injector problem .
Perform the fuel injector coil test. Refer to Fuel Injector Solenoid Coil Test .
A fuel injector coil winding resistance that is too high or too low will affect engine drivability. A fuel injector control circuit DTC may not set, but a misfire may be apparent. The fuel injector coil windings are affected by temperature. The resistance of the fuel injector coil windings will increase as the temperature of the fuel injector increases.
Diagnostic Aids

Monitoring the misfire current counters, or misfire graph, may help to isolate the fuel injector that is causing the condition.

Operating the vehicle over a wide temperature range may help isolate the fuel injector that is causing the condition.

Perform the fuel injector coil test within the conditions of the customer's concern. A fuel injector condition may only be apparent at a certain temperature, or under certain conditions.

Observe the ECT Sensor parameter with a scan tool.
Is the ECT Sensor parameter within the specified range?
10-32?°C (50-90?°F)
Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the multi-way harness connector of the fuel injectors.
  2. Measure the resistance of each fuel injector between the ignition 1 circuit and the fuel injector control circuit, at the multi-way connector with a DMM. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.
Is the resistance within the specified range for each injector?
11-14 ohms
Go to Fuel Injector Balance Test with Special Tool or Fuel Injector Balance Test with Tech 2
Go to Step 6

  1. Disconnect the multi-way harness connector of the fuel injectors.
  2. Measure the resistance of each fuel injector between the ignition 1 voltage circuit and the fuel injector control circuit, at the multi-way connector with a DMM. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.
  3. Record each fuel injector resistance value.
  4. Subtract the lowest resistance value from the highest resistance value.
Is the difference equal to, or less than, the specified value?
3 ohms
Go to Fuel Injector Balance Test with Special Tool or Fuel Injector Balance Test with Tech 2
Go to Step 5

Cyl 3 missfire . i changed coil n plug and checked injector , cleared coded but i still get the code poping back up


could have bad plug wire.fuel injector number 3 wires at connector could have short or open.PCM not firing fuel injector 3 could have intake manifold leak at cylinder 3 could mechanical failure at cylinder 3.

Not getting fuel to no. 2 injector and no. 3 injector but one and four has plenty


i would check the wiring to tthe injectors first see if there is power getting to injectors then i would look at replacing them are they individual injectors or a rail type i think they are rail type if so the wiring or injector goosed as the fuel runs along the rail and the injector opens when the signal gets to it if you get what i mean hope this makes sence and helps ivan

My 3 and 4 cyclinders are misfireing on a 99 2.4 grand am have replace the ingitions coils and the plugs and the ignition tray that acts like a distributor cap not sure what its called i get a spark from...


Hello: Remove the fuel rail with the injectors attached and wires connected. Disable the ignition system. Have helper turn engine over, see if 3 & 4 injector are firing properly, some times the fuel rail gets trash in it and 3 & 4 do not get enough fuel. Remove the injectors from the fuel rail and see if the inlet to the injector has trash in it.

WHAT HAPPENED WITH THESE VEHICLES, AS THEY GET OLDER THE INJECTORS GET STUCK. BASICALLY THE INJECTORS ARE LIKE DOOR FLAPS, THAY LET FUEL GET INTO TH ENGINE TO GIVE IT POWER. TO ACCELERATE AND GIVE YOU THAT BOOST YOU NEED. ROUGH IDLE IS BECAUSE THERE IS NOT ENOUGH FUEL INTO THE INJECTORS. USUALLY THE THE AMOUNT OF CYLINDERS YOU HAVE IN YOUR CAR, DETERMINES THE INJECTORS

TRY A FUEL INJECTION CLEANER FIRST BUT IT NEVER REALLY WORKS IF ITS REALLY BAD. YOU MAY NEED TO REPLACE THE 3RD AND 4TH INJECTORS

On the fuel rail if the 1st of the injectors is plugged will it prevent the other 3 on the same side from getting any fuel ??


no, the fuel injector being plugged is likely not to affect the other 3 on the same side from getting fuel.

The fuel rail is really large in diameter compared to the orifice of the fuel injector.

If the fuel rail were plugged up, it would mean nothing would get through to the injectors, which generally does not happen.

Cyclinder #3 no fuel ,no codes everything else is fine


You cold have a bad injector, the best thing to do is to swap out the injector with another injector like #2 injector and see if cylinder #2 get's no fuel. If there is no fuel in to #2 then you need to replace the injector, if #3 still has no fuel then it's going to be the wire harness to the #3 injector that is bad. If there is an Auto Zone you can loan out a fuel injector node that will indicate if there is power to the injector harness which would indicate a bad fuel injector so you don't have to swap out the injectors twice. 90 k1500 tbi no fuel from injectors


from the sounds of it its going to be one of 3 things 1) the injector is bad or 2) there is no power getting to the injector 3) bad relay switch.

1) to find out if the injector is good. pull the injector out and with some wire ground one side and touch the other side to your battery, every time you tap the wire to the bat you should here the injector click..

2) if injector is good get a test light and test to see if power is coming out of the wires that go to injector( on some vehicles you have to have the motor turning over befor power is sent through wire, so have someone turn the key while you check the wires with test light)
