Either the brake light bulb is faulty or the brake light switch is shorted and needs to be replaced.First check the brake light bulbs. If they are burned or shorted, then its faulty bulbs and need replacing. If bulbs checked out ok then its faulty switch.Check for 12 volts at the switch to confirm the fault.------ This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

The rear brake lamp is a whole module. Get the whole unit for left and right no after market one the pins are not always correct

2004 chrysler sebring. my break lights don't come on when i hit the break pedal.

There is a brake light switch on the pedal inside the cabin of the car, if this switch is bad your lights will not work, also I'm fairly confident that the Sebring has a seperate fuse for the brake lights, check your fuse panels also

When I turn my lights on my tail lights work but when I hit my brakes the don't light up I have a 2001 vw beetle????

the brake lights don't light up or the taillights don't light up? the brake lights are brighter than the tailights so the tailights won't show up whenbrakes are applied. if no lights work when brakes are applied then check for a bad ground at the light assembly.

Abs light on

Have to get it into a shop and get the codes read, could be dozens of reasons.
However don't worry about the braking system,if the red brake lite is out
the abs lite means the anti-lock will not operate. But the base brakes will work fine.(you will be able to lock the wheels up if you hit the brakes too hard is all)

1995 Ford f250 brake lights don't work ad neither do the hazard flashers. I replaced the flasher node and the turn signals began to work but still no brake lights.

You may have a bad signal switch..Your brake lights run through the signal switch..Try hitting the brakes and move the switch around and see if your brake lights come on intermittently..

Brake light stay on until i hit brake pedal and cruise control does not work

Your brake light switch ia faulty. It should be located down toward the bottom of the steering column on the brake pedal arm.

Tail lights and brake lights are combined. I have tail lights but no brake lights. fuses look good.

No they are different systems going to the same place, the tail lights use one fillament in the bulb and the brake and turn signal use the other, a couple things to check, brake light fuse, brake switch (located on the brake peddle) check for power, I have also run into the 4 way flasher that were the problem, more than likely the brake switch

Brake lights don.t work, single high brake light does work 98 lumina

its caused by a switch in the steering column. I have the same problem in my 1995 Lumina. I get around it by just pulling back on the turn signal lever when I hit the brakes.
Other wise you have to replace the switch. there are solutions posted on the internet.
