2000 was around the year of the switch. if it has green coolant you can use anything off the shelf from a parts store. If its pink colored then its a special formula made by Vw and Audi called G12. Its also the same as the new toyota pink coolant. DO NOT USE PRESTONE MIX WITH ANY COLOR ANTIFREEZE IN THIS VEHICLE.

That is referred to as a freeze plug. They are placed in engine blacks and heads to prevent cracking should the coolant freeze in the block. The expanding water would push them out. They will rust out over time. They can be removed and replaced. They are just a press-in metal disk.

What kind or color of engine coolant does a 2003 mitsubishi galant use

There are two basic types of anti-freeze on the market. The kind with silica particles to scrub rust out of a cast iron block and the non-silica style for water pumps with ceramic washers (The silica particle will damage the sealing surface of the ceramic washers). The color of the anti-freeze is just to let you know it is not something to drink. Unfortunately it looks like Kool-aid and you have to keep it away from your pets.Your Mitsubishi will work fine with either type of anti-freeze. If you mix colors it will just look muddy. You can purchase an eye-dropper style anti-freeze tester at the auto store to see what temperature your mixture is rated for. Mix 50/50 for most applications and 60/40 for cold weather below -20 degrees(60 percent antifreeze to 40 percent distilled water). Many products are sold premixed. If you purchase a 50/50 premix antifreeze be careful not to dilute it with distilled water or when you go to test it, it will not be strong enough to work correctly.

The radiator warning light blinks red on startup, what kind of radiator fluid does the vehicle take? 2005 VW new beetle

VW have their own spec anti freeze/coolant, but any good quality upper market anti freeze can be used and some will even say that they are recommended by VW. Follow the directions on the container for mix and dilution.

What kind of antifreeze should i use?

The question isn't really what type of anti-freeze you should use, but rather what percentage of anti-freeze, coolant you should have for the coming cold weather. If you don't live where it get very cold then about 50/50 should be sufficient. If it gets REALLY cold the you can go as high as 70% anti-freeze to 30% water. They make a device you can get at any auto parts store that will test your anti-freezes ability to withstand cold and possible damage to your cooling system. They might even check it for you,
Good luck.
If this helps you resolve your problem, please
consider giving me a good rating and a quick
"thanks" or "good job".It will help me as well.
Thank you.

What kind of antifreeze

I would check and see if the vehicle contains Dex-Cool, the orange anti-freeze, or the regular green type anti-freeze. They make an anti-freeze that will mix with either type. Don't mix the green and orange types.

What kind of anti freeze do i use for 2000 grand cherokee 6 cyclinder

You must use a 50/50 blend of ethylene-glycol and low mineral content water. This is the ideal solution for Jeep Grand Cherokees within your year. Don't use all water or all antifreeze. You can also use Mopar 5 year antifreeze available at your dealer but it cannot be combined with any other type of anti-freeze so your old anti-freeze will need to be flushed out.

What type of anti freeze should I add?

Suzuki forenza uses Green silica based anti-freeze. If you mix the wrong kind with it, it will gum up your thermostat (90 dollars) and potentially mess with some of the smaller cooling fluid tubes and passages. Not to mention, the water pump is not to fond of gritty fluid. So if you see discoloration in the bright green fluid, better drain it, flush the system out with a garden hose for 5 to 10 minutes, and refill it with new fluid.
