Power steering does not need bleeding except for several operations from lock to lock which will purge all the air in the system. It is an open system, unlike brakes etc which are dead ended. If you are having a problem, the fluid is not getting through the pump or the hoses are incorrectly connected.

It takes a while to get all the air bled out. What you need to do is put the front end up on jack stands. With the engine running, turn the steering wheel to the stops in a slow deliberate fashion. Do it about 15-20 times. The air will purge, but the problem is the air bubbles seperate and turn into a foam while your turning the wheel. It took me about 50 wheel turns to clear my steering sytem when I did my '99 Grand Caravan rack.

Power steering leak on 2003 CHEVY impala V6 3.8

When a power steering pump begins to fail, it's best to replace the pump and both pressure and return hoses to this system.
Recommend you replace this as soon as possible because it could eventually cause damage to your steering rack and pinion.

2003 GMC Sierra Has recently developed rough idle/lope at idle which sometimes goes away. Runs fine otherwise. Scan codes-Lean condition bank1 and bank2. Random misfires on all cylinders. Fuel pressure...

You never replace anything, on a Wishing,Hoping,Pushing,Poking, diagnostic approach

You learn the vehicles Systems,Test, then Replace,if you have a failed component.

Work on the Misfire Issues.
Then you lean O2 Codes will go away.

Not a the plugs.

Think lean---Vacuum leaks,EGR Valve leak,EVAP System leaks, anything with a hose that lets air into the intake system.
Exhaust System leaks,near sensors

I have a 2003 Ford Escape that is leaking power steering fluid. I replaced the power steering pump and hoses but it is still leaking. It only leaks when the Escape is turned off.

It might be the rack and pinion kit (seals)

I had this problem 2 months ago... replaced the powersteering pump 3 times until I convinced the mechanics to look at the rack and pinion. there they found the leak, especially when I turned the wheel.. They first kept telling me there was air in the lines and it would go away. but that never happened.

the rack boots never leak (they are just dust covers) unless the internal seal in the rack is defective, you will need to replace the rack assembly
