Not sure what you mean by the hook breaking on the wiper motor, as I can see a hook breaking on the the wiper blade assembly, but in either case...autozone or similar auto parts store should be able to assist

More than likley the old wiper motor was overheating or sticking causing the fuse to blow. If it hasnt happened with the new motor
I wouldnt bother with the relay.

the cause for the wipers not parking is the park tab on the wiper motor bracket is bent, replace the wiper motor bracket. as for the wipers not working at all, could be a faulty part. fit your old motor back onto the new bracket and test.

My 1990 Suburban needs new wipers, I bought the blades, however I dont know how to remove the old ones because it seems to have a different set up. you cant find just blades anymore it comes with the...

The 1990 Chevrolet Suburban has the most common hook-end wiper arms. Locate and press the tab or button where the wiper blade is inserted into the hook of the wiper arm and pull wiper blade out of hook. You may have to rotate and flex the blade to make enough clearance for the hook to pass through.

The wipers started losing range of motion. was told motor going bad. replace the motor and still have no range of motion.

It was never the motor itself, but rather the arm assembly that the wipers hook up to. That is what you have to change out. There are bushings in the assembly that get worn out, 'sloppy' is what it is called, and that causes the loss of range.

If you grab one of the wipers, and try to move it up and down, it SHOULD be tight, meaning it doesn't move much. But, if there is significant movement, then the bushings in the assembly are worn out.

I hope this helps.

Wiper on 2003 ford explorer. when turned on a noise comes from under dash and wipers dont work. they will work if I turn on switch and move the wipers, they will cycle once.

it sounds like the problem is the wiper motor if they work when you move them by hand.the motor probably has a bad spot in it,first try hooking up a jumper wire from the battery ground and the other end to the wiper motor body and make sure its a good ground at the motor.if the wipers work alright then permanently hook up a ground to the motor and body,as the motor will have a bad ground not allowing the wipers to work.

Car had no wipers when purchased and am trying to figure out how to install on 1971 camaro, confused by arm that has folding piece that looks as though its supposed to bolt on somewhere?

That may attach to the wiper motor itself. There will be an arm to each wiper to join both together and then connect to the wiper motor. Is the wiper motor there? Hooked up?

The most likely cause is a short in the wiring.. It will be time consuming but you need to check the wires between the the wiper switch and te wiper motor. If the car has a tilt wheel thats where I would start. Years of moving the steering wheel up and down can fray a wire and cause it to short. If the turns up nothing check where the wiring goes through the firewall to the wiper motor

Windshield Wipers

Under the cowl (it is a plastic piece that the windshield wipers come out of) are the wiper arms that connect to the wiper motor. There are plastic parts that hold the wiper arms to the wiper motor. Lots of time these plastic parts dry out and break and the wiper arm will fall off the wiper motor. I would bet if you tried to move one of the wipers by hand both of them would move with little resistance. This would tell me that the wiper arms are disconnected from the wiper motor. The parts to fix this are easy to get. I know the motormite HELP line of parts used to have the plastic bushings to fix this problem.
