Took my Peugeot 206 to a local mechanic (in Ecuador) to fix a minor water leak. When I turned up to collect it he had a guy there messing around with the computer, not sure why. Ever since then the Oil and STOP warning lights come on intermittently (checked the oil level it's ok, last oil change two months ago). Took it back to him the next day and he said it's because the water level was low ! I am no mechanic but struggle to find the relation between the water level and the oil level. He topped up the water, tightened up some clamps on the water piping, and said it wouldn't give me any more trouble. Took it back to him today with the same problem. Oil warning light and STOP light coming on intermittently. He said he will change the oil and the oil filter but again I can't see how that can be the problem. I suspect he has messed something up (computer?) when he was working on it the other day, as that is when the problem started. Any ideas what it could be?

Well the oil and filter change didn't work.

Thanks. I'll take it to the dealer to reset the ECM.

Thanks. I'll let you know if it works.

Really don't know what he was doing? But it sounds like you need to reset your ecm, "Computer"
You may need to call the dealer on your make of vechile and ask how you do this, But this is for sure where i would start. Good luck and allways get a sec. opinion on major work,

Hi my freind has a peugeot 206 estate it is loosing water no leaks that i can see anywhere can anybody help pls many thanks jim

Losing water, you mean coolant right? If so and you have had the cooling system pressure tested and no leaks are present on the outside of the engine then you most likely have a leaking cylinder head gasket.

Peugeot 206

i think you have a leak onto the exhaust pipe either oil or antifreeze but the latter is what i suspect ,ask a local mechanic to have a look as it could be a core plug corroded through .

206 1.4 hdi, 2005. if left overnight the car starts and then cuts out, i have to prime the fuel system to get it to start, if i prime the fuel system before starting i have no problem. the fuel is draining...

If your fuel system is loosing it's prime you have a leak. Look for oily looking mess around any of the fittings around the fuel filter any part of the system. This is the only way you can loose prime is with a leak. Check any copper sealing rings for signs of leak.

hi.
sounds like you may have a faulty thermostat.

where the top hose from the radiator connects to the engine, there is a cast alloy cover held on with three bolts.
the thermostat is under this. just swap for a new one
i would not mess about testing it. they are fairly cheap and once replaced, you do not have to worry about it again.

as the car has already leaked some coolant, top up the cooling system with neat antifreeze,

run the car for a little while, with the heating on the highest temperature, keeping a close eye on the water level.

Hi, My peugeot 206 is leaking water at the front of the car just behind the reg plate from a pipe looking thing. Is that my radiator leaking?

sounds like the water feed from the radiator to the engine, may just be a damaged or worn hose...if so, its a cheap easy fix

206CC Door mirror replacement

As far as I know all the 206 mount the same internal mirror.

If instead you are talking about the driverside mirror, there that may be differences.

A good way to find out is going to a local Peugeot car parts dealer and asking their opinion.
