I have a 1996 Mazda protege I'm having trouble

Most bulb sockets can experience wear, and tear...after carefully removing the bulb, inspect the contact points inside the socket for cleanliness or damage...the natural grease on our hands can affect the bulb life on most bulbs...especially headlight bulbs so wear soft gloves and do not touch the clear element of the bulb...BE SURE to use bulb/socket lubricant when reassembling...this assures good contact and helps to weatherproof...this lubricant in small pouches is about $2. Worst case scenario...replace the problem sockets...new, or from a salvage yard. Hope this helps.

I am having trouble figuring out how to get into the headlights on my 2001 oldsmobile alero to change the bulb.

Open your hood. On the top of each headlight there should be two black metal tabs. Pull up on those tabs. You should then be able to pull the whole headlight out. Once you have it out, you should see two rubber covers. Depending on which bulb is out pull the cover off and remove the bulb. Be careful not to touch the glass part of the new bulb as the oil from your fingers could cause the bulb to explode. I hope this helps you.

How do you replace the headlight on a 2002 Daewoo Lanos

Hi there, together with providing you the solution to the problem, I also took the liberty of going one step further in giving you steps on how to remove the headlight bulb.

  • Find the hood release handle and activate it, the hood should pop open.
  • Once the hood is popped open locate the hood secondary or safety latch and release it. Then finish opening the hood.
  • Locate and remove mounting clips for any plastic shields that cover the headlight lens mounting screws or clips.
  • Some headlight bulbs can be replaced by simply grasping the bulb socket behind the headlight lens and turn it counter clockwise to remove it. This will expose the headlight bulb.
  • If the headlight bulb socket is not accessible the headlight lens may need to be remove or obstructions behind the bulb removed to gain access to the headlight bulb socket.
  • To remove the headlight lens remove all mounting screws and clips that hold the headlight lens in place.
  • After the headlight housing has been removed from it's mounts, release the headlight bulb from the headlight lens housing (turn counter clockwise) the bulb will then come out of the headlight assembly. Once removed, visually verify that the replacement bulb is exactly the same as the failed bulb before to ensure a proper repair.
  • Clean the headlight lens free from all debris to help maintain the seal from the bulb to the lens. This will keep moisture out of the lens.
  • Install the new headlight bulb by turning the retainer ring or bulb clockwise.
  • Re-install the headlight lens housing and reinstall electrical connector.
  • Re-install plastic covers.
After the job is complete turn the ignition key to the "on" position and activate the headlight switch. Observe the newly replaced headlight bulb to ensure proper operation.

Glad to be of help!!!

How do I remove halogen low beam head light to replace it?

Removal & Installation To Remove:
WARNING
The halogen fog light bulb contains gas under pressure. The bulb may shatter if the glass envelope is scratched or if the bulb is dropped. Handle the bulb only by its base. Avoid touching the glass envelope.
NOTE: The headlight bulb should not be removed from the headlight assembly until just before a replacement bulb is installed. Removing the bulb for an extended period of time may affect headlight bulb performance. Contaminants may enter the headlight assembly where they can settle on the lens and reflector. Never turn on the headlights with the bulb removed.
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section. NOTE: Make sure that the headlight switch and the ignition switch are in the OFF position.
  2. Remove the pin-type retainers, screws and the air deflector from the radiator.
  3. Remove the three bolts and the headlight assembly.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  5. Remove the cover from the rear of the headlight assembly.
  6. If equipped with HID, release the spring tabs to remove the low beam bulb, otherwise disconnect the electrical connector and remove the bulb.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the high beam bulb.

Having trouble accessing headlight assembly to change a burned out bulb removed 5 screws and clips but still seems to be held on place

You shouldn't have to remove any screws. Look behind the headlight assembly and you will see a socket that you push in, turn and it should come out so you can replace this little light bulb, not the whole assembly.

Good Luck

How do I replace the bulb for the headlight on a 1999 protege?

First I removed the power connector by squeezing the sides of it. Then you have to pull back the rubber hood from the light. Remove it completely and lay it aside. After that I pushed downwards on a metal tab to unhook a clip that holds the bulb in the mount. The tab is on the side of the bulb that is away from the motor. The bulb will come out easily then. Note the way it comes out and put it back the same way. There are 3 tabs on the bulb housing that need to go in the same place they came out of. This keeps the bulb secure I think.

How to replace headlight on a 2003 Chevy Tracker

There are two black plastic clips behind the the air filter, remove them and release the whole assembly to access the lights.

If you still get in troubles, have it replaced at a petrol station, they will help you in fitting the bulb, and it won't be expensive.
