Question about 2004 Chevrolet Suburban

My truck will not start. I have checked the battery, starter, alternator, all are in working order. I even tried putting more gas in just in case. It tries to start but just can't.

If it's not starting but the engine turns normally when you turn the key, you are looking in the wrong places. Your starters job is to turn the engine so it's able to start. It does not start the engine. Your alternators only job is to re-charge the battery when the engine is running...it too does not start the engine.
First thing you need to do is listen at the tank to see if the fuel pump runs when you turn the key on.
if the pump runs then that's OK. if not, check the relay. Pump needs to pump to get fuel from the tank to the engine. Next thing is to have a code scan done. Failed parts in the engine management system will give a code that's stored in the computer. If you cannot do that, buy a chilton or haynes manual and get a digital volt / ohmmeter and do individual component tests 'till you find a component that's out of range. Though the system is relatively simple, without testing you will end up changing a good number of expensive parts 'till you guess at the correct one.
Always do testing with a fully charged battery or your test results will be incorrect.
Only other option is to have a good shop take a look at it.

My car will not start. The battery is new and has a full charge and turns everything on when I turn the key but when I try to start it, it will not do anything not even clicking noise.

if the battery is good it is NOT the alternator. the alternator charges the battery, if it won`t start with a new battery the alternator does nothing to affect the situation. check voltages at the starter motor connections for proper voltages even the wires that the ignition switch supplies power to. if you have proper voltages at the starter you can try hitting the starter while someone tries to start the car. if it starts the starter is worn internally and will have to be replaced.

If I have a 1996 ford taurus gl; that stopped working all of a sudden. And I have tried changing the battery, alternator, starter, and fuses. When the car stopped running there was gas that was a month...

check to make sure the fuel pump is working and at the proper pressure which is 35lbs pressure. have you checked this and checked for spark and timing, a bad timing chain. how long has it been since you last changed the fuel filter it could be plugged. you don`t say why you tried a battery, starter, fuses, alternator. how much gas was in the tank and is your gas gage accurate. you may have to add some gas. just some places to start.

Starter wiill not even engage turned the key on and nothing ran fine when I parked it and got up in the morning and wont even tur n over. Brand new battery

Hmm, possible problems:
- starter or starter solenoid defective.
- neutral switch or wiring thereto defective. Shift selector has to be in Park or Neutral to start. Sometimes brake pedal has to be pressed also for starter to turn.
- remote starter system defective (if you have this) This would be hard to diagnose.
I would first confirm if the starter works by putting 12V directly from positive pole on battery to positive connector on starter solenoid (use jumper cable, and wear goggles in case of massive sparking when you accidentally touch ground.)

99 Dodge Ram won't start even after putting on a new battery. All the interior lights work and radio plays but it won't turn over its not a desiel.

Sounds like a bad starter motor or neutral safety switch or ignition switch. try putting it in neutral instead of park. Put your foot on the brake and turn the ignition. Do you even hear a clink of the starter solenoid?

When trying to start my 1991 Plymouth Sundance America I hear only a clicking sound. I replaced the battery but it did not work. Can it be the alternator?

sounds like you have a bad starter.not your alternator.if the battery is good the car should start even if the alternator is bad.you can even drive the car until the battery runs low.the alternator job is to keep the battery charged.soulds like the solinoid is clicking.but no responce from the starter.have starter checked.

96 honda accord will not start battery works fine car will not turn over the past couple of days when i tried to start the car it would sputter.

Remove your alternator and starter and take them down to an auto parts store to be load tested. Use an amp meter to double check that your battery is reaching AT LEAST 12.5 volts. If it is getting anything less than 12v, such as 11.5 or 11 or 10.5 or anything under 12.5, then it too needs to be replaced.

If your alternator and/or alternator test to not be working, replace them. If they test to be working just fine, check your battery terminals for calcium build up, old terminals, bad cables or a bad ground. Check the alternator and starter wiring for the same wear.

2001 Mitsubishi eclipse wont start

you don't hit the alternator, you hit the starter to help is shake free because it is already going bad. take battery and alternator to parts store and have both tested. check the wires at the starter and make sure they are on SECURELY. very important SOLID CONTACT is occurring. do your lights turn on? check starter relay if the eclipse is equipped with one.

96 dodge neon alternator and starter syop working

one thing to check is the positive and negative battery post's. check for any corrsion and even do a voltage test to the starter. check the grounds. The battery might be bad have you tryed to jump it? The battery light comes on when their is a dop in voltage in the sys.
