You have a power steering leak either the pump itself or one of the power steering hoses has a hole in it.the low brake fluid light is probably the fluid sensor in the master cylinder providing the fluid level is not low.the sensors tend to stick and need to be tapped or pushed with your finger until it frees itself.

How do i diagnose power brake assist failure?

The power steering cap is clearly marked so you should be able to view the reservoir to determine if it is low. If low, top it off and see what happens. But be careful.

It sounds as if the fluid is triggering a fault that turns on the lights. I would be very careful if you try to drive this vehicle, you may suddenly find the steering is VERY hard to turn. Get it to a trustworthy shop as soon as possible. If the fluid leaks fast enough to empty the power steering you could crash. It would be cheaper to have it hauled to a shop than risk a costly accident.

Hand brake light on dash intermittant. Switch at hand brake is ok

check the brake fluid level. the brake fluid can be low and comes on when stopping or going around curves. the brake fliud level sensor uses the same brake light as the parking brake. if the fliud is low check the pads and /or shoes for wear.

My car has been sitting up for five years. Recently, I had the car serviced. The brakes pedal is very low. I was told that I needed to pump my brakes in to get them to come up. I think I may need some...

The master cylinder reservoir should be close to the firewall (at the rear of the engine compartment). Brake fluid will not normally just disappear when a vehicle sits though, and you should have pedal pressure even with low fluid. Chances are that the master cylinder, or a wheel cylinder, is leaking and needs to be replaced.

Where do you put the brake fluid in the engine

You never put brake fluid in the engine, brake fluid only goes in the brake master cylinder, which is on the drivers side under the hood, close to the fire wall, will have a small resivor.

(I)(P)Brake light on

hi from the uk this warning light has two functions 1st it comes on when park brake is on then goes off as p/brake released the other function of this light being on ? is a warning that the brake fluid level in the reservoir is low the sensor is on the fill cap however! low level may be a fliud leak ? orsimply the level has dropped over time due to as the brake pads and rear shoes wear down then the fluid displaces from reservoir and compesates for the wear and fluid keeps the w/cylinders always topped up automatically may i suggest you check your b/pads and shoes are not too low for safety if so then renew asap also make sure there is no sign of fluid leaking on brakes especially the rear cyl's and actual b/pipes hope this helps?

It is leaking muliple substances. one is red leaking on the right side of the car and right next to the red leak its a tube looking thing that is frayed and leaking a clear oily substance, the other is...

The "Red" is transmission fluid, the "Clear" is most likely power steering fluid, or it could be "refrigerent oil" from the A/C. I don't know what could be leaking in the rear of the car maybe oil from one of the rear struts or maybe brake fluid. Do the brakes seem to work OK yet? If so it's probably not brake fluid. It could be condensation coming out of the muffler, there a weap hole in the muffler to allow excess water to run out. It might be picking up some color from the muffler. The transmission and the power steering are the biggest concerns you don't want to let the fluid level get low on either of those. If the transmission is leaking on the right side it's most likely the axel seal or maybe the pan gasket. Neither of these should be an expensive fix. But, you should get it to a shop and have it checked out. Try to find an independent shop instead of the dealer the independents are usually cheaper and do just as good of work. Get an estimate!!

1992 buick regal leaking clear fluid from area in front of driver side wheel. What is leaking and where could it be leaking from?

clear fluid under the hood can only be a few things. it could be water either from rain or condensation, perhaps on the air conditioning system, not a problem, warm humid outside air will give up some moisture when it contacts the cold a/c lines. it could be power steering fluid, check the reservoir and see if it is low. the power steering pump is belt driven and it is mounted on the front of the engine. or it could be brake fluid, seems most likely. you can take the cap off the master cylinder and see if it is low, wipe it off first so you don't get any dirt in the fluid. there is a rigid line that carries fluid to the brake assembly and a flexible line that allows the wheels to move when you steer the car. when they leak it is usually the flex line that leaks. it is usually pretty easy to find, there will be a clean spot where the leak is coming from. be careful with brake fluid, it will eat the paint right off your car. hope that helps
