Do you have a weak battery or starter? Weak fuel pump dirty intake? Loss of compression. There are multiple things it can be. Is it just sluggish turning over

My 1993 gmc seirra has started runninning sluggish

This could be due to many factors. The first thing that I would like to ask you is how many miles are on the truck? How often do you do maintenance? Oil change? Transmission fluid and filter change? Air filter change? Please answer these and I will be able to help you further thank you.

Oil-pump - engine shut-down - opened valve cover - burnt and abused looking-

Not the oil,the filter or the pump

You say always sluggish-- but no mention of working
on engine performance or doing any testing to find
out why !

You say opened valve cover & looked gunked up

So I assume you bought it that way & your done out of the gate

Abuse & no oil changes since new by original owner

Now you do a cylinder leak down test to see if the valves seal
Then if good you look at all data with a scan tool

You may be able to wash down the gunk on the head, replace the oil
pump if you like, clean out the oil pan & just keep going, new spark
plugs,ignition coils,O2 Sensors,exhaust converter & more.

But why, it is too old & will cost too much

Maybe you will have to pull the head to clean it up along with the other items

Sounds like a case of neglect to me & too much work for a low end

Mercedes clk 200 petrol 1999.guys I really need help quickly please. Only brought the car yesterday and already it's a goner. Driving home it was very sluggish. this morning again sluggish....

If it runs good in park or at idle but is slugish when you try to accelerate it is likely a fuel issue. I would start with a new fuel filter. When you press on the gas you need more fuel pressure and if the pump cant get more through the clogged filter you will get that. If it runs bad even at idle it is likely a spark issue and needs new plugs and wires. I would give it a good tune up - oil change, spark plugs (platinum or iridium), plug wires, air filter, fuel filter, PCV Valve and see how she runs after that.

Toyota sluggish

I always advise people to start with the cheapest solution and work towards more expensive things in situations like this. First thing I do when a car becomes sluggish is replace spark plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter, and change the oil. that should fix your problems I don't think you have any major issues

Oil change 1994 Cadillac Eldorado

well let me see you have 4.6L engine you need 7.5 quarts of oil with new oil do the oil change you need large drain pan and oil filter wrench and a metric wrench to remove oil drain plug you need a funnel need first start engine let it run for 5 minutes to warm up thin out the oil so it will flow better.once engine warm up.turn off the you safely raise support vechicle on jack stands make sure vechicle parked on solid level large drain pan under oil pan remove oil drain plug you need a 15m wrench remove drain plug let all old oil drain out until you see slow drip then reinstall oil drain plug dont over tighten drain bolt.then place drain pan under the oil filter then remove oil filter using oil filter wrench or large channel lock pliers.once you remove oil filter wipe oil filter seal surface with clean paper towel.take new oil filter add oil to new filter then install new oil filter hand tight take filter wrench turn oil filter one half more turn dont over tighten will damage oil filter seal.make sure oil pan drain plug is in place. then lower vechicle. remove oil filler cap on the valve cover add new oil to the engine using a funnel to keep from spilling oil all over the valve cover and exhaust manifold.add all 7.5 quarts to oil crank case wait until oil settle down in crank case check oil dip stick oil level should be at the full mark on oil dip stick.dont over fill crank case.once you finished oil level correct crank engine check for oil leaks at oil filter and oil drain plug. if engine running okay you see no oil warning lights you ready wheel and deal.

1994 pontiac transport se sluggish running

Ck your exhaust pipe at rear of car noting any obnoxious smell like rottrn eggs. Hold a piece of paper, I use a dollar bill ,in in front of the exhaust. If it blows the paper gently, you have a catalyctic converter going or is bad. Will need replace if so.

once you change fuel octane it may run sluggish because the car is used to running at a better octane to run more efficient. go back to 93 and see if that may change it back to normal (note that it may take your car a few runs to get back to normal)
