my problem is actually on the DRIVER's side of my 2004 tiburon. fuse 30A is fine. could it be a fuse problem?

  • mojolink Nov 11, 2008

Passenger power window does not function, no blown fuse found, no noise or sound of motor movement when driver side or passenger control switch is activated.

I have a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon and the windows have some serious issues, both driver and passenger.

About a year ago, the driver side window started to make this crunchy sound when I was trying to roll it up and it broke. Took the panel off to see that the wires were all bound up and not salvageable. The motor worked just need a whole new regulator.

Recently, the same thing happened to my passenger window, and by some coincidence, a new problem has sprung up with my driver side window again.

It can roll down, but not up. This was happening for a few months, but after a few minutes of mashing the button to roll up, it'd click on and do so. But now, it will not roll up at all-just down.

It doesn't make a noise when trying to roll up and after inspecting I can see no damage with the regulator and motor inside. This leads me to believe that the switch itself has a problem, maybe a short in a diode or something. I am going to go and find a replacement for that power window switch, but the dealership wants 130 bucks. Found it on Ebay for 20. Waiting for it in the mail currently.

passenger side window will not power down, driver side functions properly can hear a click when press either d or p switch for the pass window.

  • Eric Bishop Jan 05, 2009

Driver's side window rolls down, but not up. Tested switch and voltaget was correct, when applied. Tested resistance on motor and motor is fine. Detached window, from assembly and removed assembly. Reassembled and reseated window. It worked, again, for about a month. The switch clicks, but it doesn't move. It seems that disassembling and reassembling corrects some issue..... ?

sophuct72 ....I have the exact same problem you have..Pass Window doesn't go down...use the switch for that window from driver's side and I can hear the clicking on the passenger switch. Took the door off and it looks like it might be difficult to get to especially when windows up. Read another post and they said to reconnect the switch and tap on motor while pressing the switch. If the window comes down...motor probably needs replacing..easier to replace when window down.

Another thing on the passenger door, my door lock doesn't work. Either with remote and inside door lock (froze in lock position). Only way I can open the door is put key in door lock and turn counterclockwise and open with the handle on the same side. Key doesn't turn all the way..this might be actuator...

Either case with the window and door lock....not all that easy to get to either with the tight space

First check the proper fuse to insure it isn't that simple. Then you will have to remove the door panel "screws in', to gain acess to the window switch w/a test light check the connections across the switch if the lines are "live" that means power is comming "in" homever none is going "out" to the window motor indicitive of a bad switch.

Driver and passenger power windows quit

Do they not work with either switch(does passenger side work with passenger side switch?)If so you may have a bad connection on the switch on the drivers door.If not you may have a bad relay or fuse.A mistake alot of people make in the winter time is try to put the window down when they are frozen shut. You can easily break the plastic parts in a power window this way.

My passenger power windows quit working

If you try to work with the driver side windows switch... work passenger window?
Yes: Your problem is the passenger windows switch
No: Your problem is the power windows motor

Take off the door panel and first try testing wires voltage at windows motor and motor at windows switch.

Hope helps.

Passenger side window wont go up? Was working perfect until last nite just quit. all other windows work.

If both window switches on the driver's side and passengers side do not work most likely it is the Power Window Regulator. You will need to remove the passengers door panel and remove the plastic water shield and check the voltage at the regulator connection. If it has a voltage when the window switch is pressed then you can order the regulator at the below link, or if you can find it cheaper or locally you can purchase it from them.

Passenger power window quit working...is it a fuse or breaker or what? The drivers window works fine.

hi, if the drivers window works fine then this suggests the fuse is ok, if you can control the passenger window from the driver side and it dont work and the switch on the passenger side dont work the window then this would point towards either motor or regulator at fault, if the drivers side and passenger side switch are the same then you can swap the switches over all you need to do is pry them out and unclip the wires and swap them over this way you can test if its the switch at fault or the motor.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Passenger side power window suddenly quit working. Window is in "up" position, but will not work from either the driver control switch, nor the passenger control switch.

I had the same problem with my driver side window, so I just replaced the power window motor. It took less than an hour, cost about $35 or $40 and it works perfectly now.
