t sounds like there might be a short circuit somewhere in the electrical system of your 1986 Buick Riviera. This could be causing the battery to drain and the dash lights and interior lights to behave abnormally. I would suggest checking the wiring and connections in the car to see if there is any obvious damage or loose connections. It may also be helpful to use a multimeter to test the electrical system and find the source of the short circuit
check the switch you maybe have accidently turned it on so the light will stay on. You can also check the bullet switches on the front door posts, they could be stuck, if so spray them with some penetrating oil.
I did that and they still stay on.
