Question about 2004 Subaru Forester
I suggest the following:
1) Confirm the height by:
a) Looking in the original manual for exact specifications, then confirming by actual measurement
b) Let is stand next to an original model at the dealership
2) Decide whether ground clearance is important to you by considering the following:
a) How often do you drive off-raod. The one draw-back of the '04 model has been ground clearance for full off-roading purposes
b) A lower suspension is better for on-road stability
3) Consider the consequences of not confirming whether the vehicle has been tampered with:
a) If there is no track record or service history... forget it or negotiate a cheaper price bearing that you will bear the consequences of any losses
b) If it has been modified for the purpose of better road holding/less body roll... then it can be a big plus but again no warrenty can be claimed against
c) Take the care to a reputable testing centre such as the Automobile Association for a total report
d) Get the seller to provide you with a report from a reputable testing centre.
