Hello, there are small bulbs behind the dash. It's a little tricky to remove the molding and such around the gauges (2) under the gauges where the speedominator is.Just pull out slightly just enough to see the bulbs or behind the gauges. And there you go.There covered with colored plastic or rubber (color you see on the gauge green/red/white or clear.P.S. be carefull there kinda delicate if torn backlight will be color of bulb.If this happens no big deal ,at least you illumination (to see) Goodluck :) I did my own and no problem since........

My 2005 matrix keeps blowing 15amp rear running light fuse every time light get turned on all other lights work fine.whats causing this?

fuses blow because of dead shorts or excess current draw
to blow a 15 amp fuse indicates a dead short
by disconnecting the rear lights , the problem is in something else you have replaced
could be a problem in the head light wiring

Sounds like a wiring problem.
The fuse for the dash lights is different from the fuse for the dome light.

The gauge/gear/temp control lights do not work. Tail lights are fine. Bulbs are fine, replaced 2 fuses but problem persists, what to do??

The dash lights are on a different fuse and circuit from the tail lights.
If the lights in the instrument cluster work, the problem may be in the harness in the dash.

Left headlight, dash lights, and both tail lights do no illuminate. brake lights and high beams work fine. what would cause this to happen, fuses are good.

Most certainly a wiring fault, you need a wiring diagram, these items are related as in all on same circuit. Check rear of fuse box.

Fuse location for Dashboard light in 1998 Nissan Frontier XE 2WD . The Manuel and Fuse Box Covers don't help at all. Entire Dash lighting is out, other dash features work fine.

Fuse Number 39 10amp fuse Color Red.
Fuse Number 11 10amp fuse Color Red
This illuminated your dash (cluster)

Let me know if this help you.
Check with test light.

My running lights/dash lights are not working on a 1996 Cherokee

I looked in a Haynes manual and it showed a 20 amp fuse controlling the the dash/ taillights. I t sould be in the fuse block under the the driver's side dash. If you have your owners manual, there should be a fuse locator diagrahm to help you locate the right 20 amp fuse. Remember usually when your dash lights are out so are your tail lights.
