Question about 1998 Honda Civic

Driver's side window regulator

Got any hints and tips to help me in replacing the driver-side window regulator on my daughter's 98 Honda Civic LX 4 door: specialty tools needed, door panel removal tips, special lubricants, extra patience and resolve ... etc? Advice will be much appreciated by myself and my daughter.

Thanks for the tip.  Will replace the run channels as well then.  Will be away from the computer for just over a week. Upon my return will give a report on the success (or otherwise) of my efforts which may help others with a similar task.

I just replaced the regulator in my mother's 98 civic ex and didnt need any special tools. I do recommend replacing the glass run channels on either side of the window. I have replaced the regulator twice and it is still having problems as I haven't replaced the run channels. If not replaced very soon I can see myself replacing the regulator...yet again!

Stuck crank window, drivers side, 97 honda civic

1996-00 Civic 2-doors had a problem with the front windows binding or coming out of the run channel. The window regulator needs replaced and the rubber run channel needs inspected for damage and to make sure its properly seated into the window channels. note: make sure you install the window crank in the 10 o'clock position, so your not tempted to use the window crank as a door handle to pull the door shut. This can break the crank and/or the regulator. -Hope this helps:)
