Question about Toyota Corolla

1 Answer

How do I replace a 2010 Toyota Corolla air filter? Is it as easy as releasing the housing clips, pull the old one out, clean the housing with a rag, and put the new one in, and reclip the housing? Or, is there a sinister sensor that I have to disable first?

Just open the housing, clean it out if you like with a damp rag and reinstall the new one. If you have to disconnect anything to more easily get into the housing, make sure the ignition is off and everything is reconnected before you start the car.

My 2001 toyota Corolla will run better as i let off the accelerator going up hill or on hard accelaration, fuel filter???

Could be. Dirty filters will usually cut out at higher speeds. Like not go past 60 MPH's with out chugging/missing out. No volume. If you never have replaced it I would. But I would also pull the throttle body, then remove the idle air control motor(IAC) and clean both of them. Dirty IAC's are a problem with them. The vane inside the IAC should not stick. Brake clean and a paper clip gets the clean.

Hi, the switch has a cable connected to it, it has definitely come loose from the plastic housing that controls the air flow, suggest open out the panel and reconnect the cable.

Steps to replace Airfilter on Toyota Quantum 2.5 diesel

Follow these steps to replace the Air Filter on your Toyota:
1) Turn off the car before changing the air filter. Don't start the car once the air filter has been removed,
2) Locate the box that houses the air filter. Look in the front driver's side, back corner under the hood for a rectangular-shaped black box.
3) Lift the lid and compress the accordion-type tubing towards the engine. Remove the old filter from the housing unit. Clean any leaves or debris out of the box.
4) Replace the old filter with a new filter and pull the lid back over to the air filter housing unit, and snap it in place. Reattach the clips to secure the lid. Hope this helps.

Trying to change my air filter (engine - not cabin) on 2009 Toyota Highlander with no hep form the manual Can you advise?

It is pretty simple. There are either screws or clips (I'm not sure which, as the manual doesn't say) holding one end of the air cleaner cap assembly. Just un-fasten the screws or clips and lift the cap assembly up and out of the hooks on the other end. The air tube to the intake manifold will still be connected and my make this a little difficult to do. If so, loosen the clamps on the air tube to make it easier. After replacing the filter element, make sure the cap assembly is fitted and secured properly and all clamps are tight. (See picture)

How to change air filter for toyota camry 2003 thanks

The steps are described below

  1. Turn off the car before changing the air filter. Don't start the car once the air filter has been removed, it acts as a barrier were the car to backfire.
  2. Locate the box that houses the air filter. Look in the front driver's side of the car, closest to the windshield, near the center of the engine compartment.
  3. Undo the clips that keep the housing lid secure. Lift the lid and compress the accordion-type tubing towards the engine.
  4. Remove the old filter from the housing unit. Clean any leaves or debris out of the box.
  5. Replace the old filter with a new filter that is made for the specific make and model year of your Toyota Camry. Use a K&N air filter, part number 33-2260, for a Camry manufactured from 2002 to 2007.
  6. Pull the lid back over to the air filter housing unit, and snap it in place. Reattach the clips to secure the lid.

How to replace engine air filter in 2001 honda odyssey

The air cleaner element is inside the air cleaner housing on the driver's side of the engine compartment.
To replace it:
1. Remove the two pins holding the air intake cover by pulling the head on each pin. Remove the air intake cover.
2. Loosen the four bolts by using a Phillips-head screwdriver.
3. Disconnect the clip from the bolt on the air cleaner housing, then remove the air cleaner housing cover.
4. Remove the old air cleaner element.
5. Carefully clean the inside of the air cleaner housing with a damp rag
(The coolant lines inside the air cleaner housing may be warm. Do not open the hot air valve when cleaning the inside of the air cleaner housing)
6. Place the new air cleaner element in the air cleaner housing.
7. Reinstall the air cleaner housing cover. Reinstall the clip on the bolt; make sure the clip is under the washer. Tighten the four bolts.
8. Reinstall the air intake cover. Reinstall the two pins and secure them by pushing on the heads until they lock.

Hope this helps you through the process.

How do I replace headlight bulb for my toyota corolla 1998?

Open up the hood, and go in behind the fixture where the light is located. Grasp the headlamp electrical connector socket (with wires coming out of it) and disconnect it by pulling straight back. Pull off the black, soft rubber protective housing that surrounds the back of the headlamp housing. You will then see a spring clip securing the bulb. Push the clip in and up on an angle and it will release the bulb. Never touch the new bulb with your bare fingers, as the skin-oil you leave will greatly shorten the bulb's life. Place the new bulb assembly into the housing, push the clip in and up again, but in the opposite direction of the first angle to release it and it will lock. Then replace the black rubber housing-cover, plug the electrical connector back in, and you're in business.
