The fuel lines all have a rubber 0 ring for sealing the fuel pressure from leaking, these 0 rings a designed for use with fuel and won`t go bad when in contact with fuel.the 0 rings are fitted on the fuel lines near the end of the lines.

1993 dodge dinesty 3.4 fuel rail leaks how can i repair

If the metal fuel rail itself has a leak, it should be replaced. If it is leaking by an injector, the O-rings on the injectors need to be checked and probably replaced. If a fuel line to the rail is leaking, that will have to be repaired. There will be two fuel lines at the rail, the feed line in from the gas tank, and a return line from the rail back to the tank. If there is a pressure regulator on the fuel rail (it will have a short vacuum line hose to it), the regulator may also have an o-ring to keep from leaking where it mounts.

2003 chevy 1500 has a code that says large evap leak. Where do I find this leak?

"Where" to find the leak is in your evaporative emmissions system. Most of the time, a good visual inspection will turn up the culprit. First, check the fuel cap. Look at the rubber O-Ring that seals it against the fuel fill tube. If it is cracked or looks like it is crushed down, replace your fuel cap. If that all looks OK, then you can check the rest of the system for obvious cracks, or leaks. Start with the Evap Purge line. You can identify this in the engine compartment as a plastic vacuum line about 5/16" in diameter and it has a service port on it with a green cap. Check the plastic line for cracks. Then check the rubber components that connect to this line on both ends. One end will go into the Purge Solenoid and the other will go into a steel line that runs along the frame rail under the vehicle. Follow this steel line to where it goes and inspect all connecting hoses, tanks, etc. there will also be rubber hoses at the fuel tank area and some that connect to the fuel fill tube. Check all of these for any visual signs of damage or leaks. Also check for badly corroded metal parts - especially near the fuel fill tube. Sometimes the metal tubes get rusted through and cause leaks.

If a thorough visual inpection does not lead you to a suspect, then the system will have to be "smoke-tested". This is where the system is filled with smoke under a slight amount of pressure so the leak can be seen where the smoke comes out.

Fuel Filter Removal & Installation To Remove:
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Cautions and Warnings in the beginning of this section
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable
  3. Relieve the fuel system pressure (See: Fuel Pressure Relieving)
  4. Raise the vehicle Fuel filter-4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L engines 9308kg55.gif

  5. Clean all the fuel filter connections and the surrounding areas before disconnecting the fuel lines in order to avoid possible contamination of the fuel system
  6. Disconnect the threaded fittings from the fuel filter
  7. Cap the fuel lines in order to prevent possible fuel system contamination
  8. Slide the fuel filter from the bracket
  9. Inspect the fuel line O-rings for cuts, nicks, swelling, or distortion
  10. Replace the O-rings if necessary.
To Install:
  1. Slide the fuel filter into the bracket
  2. Remove the caps from the fuel lines
  3. Connect the threaded fittings to the fuel filter and tighten the fittings
    • Torque to: 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm)
  4. Tighten the fuel filter bracket bolt
    • Torque to: 106 inch lbs. (12 Nm)
  5. Lower the vehicle
  6. Tighten the fuel filler cap
  7. Connect the negative battery cable
  8. Use the following procedure in order to inspect for leaks:
    • Turn on the ignition, with the engine off, for 2 seconds
    • Turn off the ignition for 10 seconds
    • Turn on the ignition, with the engine off
    • Inspect for fuel leaks
  9. Install the engine sight shield
  10. Test drive the vehicle to confirm the repairs

Gas line leaking by engine how do repair that?

Where is it leaking? If its at the fuel rail fuel pressure regulator you may need a new regulator if leaking on the metal part. If its leaking at the rail side its just the "O" ring. Relieve fuel pressure(push in valve under plastic cap right side beside alternator on rail. Remove the torx screw holding regulator bracket. Pry out and replace "O" ring, reassemble. If its not the regulator it may be a fuel injector, you need to remove the fuel rail and replace both the upper and lower injector "O" rings. This however needs the intake manifold removed to repair.

2002 yukon hard to start, where is the fuel filter and how to replace it.

FIRST RELIEF FUEL PRESSURE BY REMOVING GAS CAP REMOVE FUEL PUMP RELAY START ENGINE UNTIL IT DIES LACK OF FUEL. FUEL FILTER IS MOUNTED TO THE RIGHT FRAME RAIL.NEAR THE FUEL TANK.YOU NEED A FLARE NUT WRENCH TO LOOSEN FUEL LINE AT FILTER AND A ADJUSTABLE WRENCH HOLD FILTER LARGE NUT WHILE LOOSEN FUEL LINE THIS KEEP FROM TWISTING FUEL LINES WHILE LOOSEN FUEL LINE.BESURE TO GO TO DEALERSHIP AND BUY NEW O - RINGS AT FUEL FILTER LINES.LUBRICATE NEW O- RINGS WITH CLEAN ENGINE OIL.WHEN INSTALLING NEW FUEL FILTER DONT OVER TIGHTEN FUEL LINES CUTTINGTHE O -RINGS AT FUEL FILTER.IF SO THEY WILL LEAK GAS WHEN YOU START UP ENGINE.WHEN DONE CHECK FOR GAS LEAKS WHEN DONE DONT DRIVE UNTIL YOU CHECK FOR LEAKS FIRST.
