Replacing these items won`t cause your problem.you will have to find out what code set the light and go from there.you don`t say if the revving is at idle or not if it is you could have a bad idle control motor or a cracked vacuum hose that acts up at certain times.even a bad throttle position sensor(tps),egr valve,so its important to know what set the light on.

Rev out of control

Check to see if it has a Throttle positioning sensor. A faulty one will cause the engine not to run properly. It will do like you described with the engine revving and then wanting to cut out.

I just replaced the starter on my 1989 Subaru DL 4DR Wagon and it started fine, now less then 2 months later, all it does is click when I tuurn the key. Do I need another starter this quickly? Could

Make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good.
At the starter motor, two voltage circuits. One comes from the battery, hot all the time. The other circuit goes hot with key in the crank position. The starter motor grounds through the engine block. You could use a test lite to check voltage at starter motor. There could be safety issues testing at starter motor, make sure tranny is in park or neutral and functional parking brake is set. If automatic tranny there is an inhibit switch, I usually call it a neutral switch. There could be other issues?

Hello, I have a couple of questions. First of all my 1991 Honda Civic won't pass the emissions, it is considered a gross polluter and has high Nox and CO. I know this is a common problem in these cars of...

High CO should cancell Nox, catalytic is finished so youll need a catalytic.you cant have those 2 high together.Oil light came on,when the oil light comes on it means that the oil pressure is too low and not enough pressure to lubicate moving parts, checking the dip stick you only check the volume, your oil light checks the pressure.Check the oil again is it silverish,or rich black, and upon start up is there a thud noise? if yes the crank shaft and engine is locking up. So how much ? for the year . Salvage yard , dont rebuild, and here what you need to price a catalytic convertor, and a used engine, I hope this helped

TOYOTA PREVIA CDX 2001. HAS HAD ENGINE LIGHT ON FOR A YEAR OR SO - GARAGE SAYS IT IS ONE OF FOUR OXYGEN SENSORS ON CATALYTIC CONVERTOR - BUT THEY DO NOT KNOW WHICH ONE. ALSO IN LAST MONTH OR TWO -...

That sounds like a faulty 02 sensor. Technically speaking as a mechanic myself, I suggest that they all be of the same age for computer to read correctly. It is expensive but well worth it.

Warning lights on a 2006 toyota rav 4 32,000 miles

I had the same problem. A computer check showed that the emission system was having difficulty. The catalytic converter had to be replaced. The car had under 80,000 miles on it so it was covered by a warranty (State law? Federal law?).
My battery was also dead. That was replaced free too. It had a 7 year warranty.
I do NOT purchase extended warranties.
