Question about 1990 Jaguar XJ6

I have a 1990 Jaguar XJ6 VanderPlas. It is showing Fuel/Fault code #24. How can I find what this code means? It seems like the transmission will not work when the car is hot.

Get a Haynes Manual. Code 24 is the ignition amplifier issue.

The trans light comes on the dash in my 1990 jaguar vanderplas it will only give me 3rd gear then when i shut off and start in morning i can drive it for 10 minutes before it does it again. how do I...

Did you check the fluid? Has any service been done to the tranny lately? How about that filter? If no, you might have a couple bad solenoids in the tranny, they can be accessed from the bottom without taking out the tranny, but they are not necessarily the problem. You will have to find out what tranny you have in there and find a website forum that has it on there, you will learn a lot real fast. Check it out, Hope this helps.

Replaced the ignition amplifier and coil and purchased new computer for 1990 Jaguar XJ6 and the car still does not want to start. First I had no fuel now I seem to have to much fuel.

You can't clean a CPS, it is either bad or good. Replace it. Also, if there was any water in that gas tank you can crank it till the cows come home.

I have a 1990 Jaguar Sovereign, 98,000 miles. The problem I'm having is the engine starts and runs, but it lopes at idle and runs rough, seems to be running too rich. I was getting fault codes 44, 37,...

I would change the air filter and clean the fine mesh covering the air flow control unit.
Make sure the connections are good as the sensor screen is tied to the O2 sensor. A new O2 sensor and dirty screen would give you poor fuel burning as the air fuel mix would be bad, and the O2 sensor would read the need for more fuel.......poor economy and running rough as it would not be clean burning.
