Teflon tape works great for this and is what is usually used on Fords during installation at the factory.

Hi i have a 2004 ford f250 with a 6.0 diesel it has been running fine ...i shut it off for 10 minutes after 4 hours of driving and tried to restart and it cranks fine but does not ..... I...

Some trucks may develop an oil leak at the high pressure oil pump outlet fitting. This will cause a no-start condition as the computer needs to see at least 500 PSI before it will activate the injectors. In some cases the no-start will be intermittent and/or an intermittent stall with no codes will occur. If high pressure oil leak diagnosis indicates a leak at the pump, the pump outlet fitting (W301727) and the discharge tube block should be replaced with fitting and bracket kit 4C3Z-9B246-A. Do not torque the outlet fitting beyond 38 ft/lbs. If the leak is traced to the branch tube running through the engine block, replace with P/N 5C3Z9J332-B (requires removal of the transmission, flywheel and rear engine cover; new flywheel bolts required). I had this exact problem with my 05 6.0 diesel and it is an issue that the dealer knows all about.

I have a 2002 Ford F-250 Diesel 7.3 litre Super Duty truck. It is leaking oil from an area beneath the fuel filter. What part would I need to repair this leak?

there are 2 high pressure lines that attach to the high pressure pump near the front of the engine left side. the o rings leak. I would get them from the dealer, or a shop that does a lot of Diesel work. Its not a easy job.

Why is my 6.0 ford diesel blowing coolant out under the resivoir cap . I jus had egr cooler, oil cooler, high press. oil pump , & turbo replaced !!

There is a possibility it is overfull. Ford put out a TSB which lowered the hot full level on the recovery tank about an inch. These recovery tanks also have had a history of developing pinholes and cracks on the top side that sometimes appear to be leaks from the cap. If you do not find a remedy with the tank itself, there are tools that can be used to check for combustion gasses in the cooling system. If you find combustion gasses in the cooling system, have the EGR cooler pressure tested before pulling the heads. If you do have to pull the heads replace the headbolts with ARP studs and nuts.

I have a 2003 f250 6.0. big oil leak

Either the rear intake gasket is leaking,or the oil sending unit.It sounds more like a oil sending unit.It will have one wire going to it.It will most likely have oil all over it,and around it.With the amount of oil you are talking 275877.jpg,it would almost have to 833439.jpg the problem. It would look similar to these. Please let us know if this helps.thank you.

High pressure oil pump leak.

the high pressure pump provides the pressure to your injectors so the diesel luel can be injected at high pressure. You should fix this immediately. Call your dealer and ask for some help from Ford on the repair cost ahead of the repair. See what they will do.

04 f250 diesel cranks but won't start

this is an oil pressure problem, either a sensor is not sensing enough oil pressure, or the high pressure pump is not building enough pressure(possibly leaking or head is leaking). this engine requires 450 psi minimum oil pressure at the injectors to actuate the injectors.

2000 ford f250 super duty 4x4 7.3L diesel oil leak

The HPOP (high pressure oil pump) is right under the filter housing. There are 2 lines that distribute the oil to the cylinder heads. The o-rings on those fittings go out. Kit is available from Ford or International. You will need a special wrench to get to the fittings though.
