Question about 1988 Ford Crown Victoria

Open Question

I have a 1988 Country squire, Crown Victoria station wagon. It ran fine but suddenly when I went to start it, it tried to start but wouldn't turn over. I have only the one car and depend on it for Dr. visits every month that I have to do in person because of getting heavy narcotic pain meds.

Car ran fine shut it off came back it didn't want to start. started went about half a mile sputered an died wouldn't start back up 1991 subaru loyal wagon

Hi sounds like the typical fuel pump or filter problem with these cars, best way to tell is take top fuel hose off on fuel filter under hood, turn key on ignition (not start) and fuel should pump out, if not its your pump, just beware of doing when engine is hot

Trying to find where the inline fuel filter is located on a 1988 ford country squire station wagon it is supposed to be on or near the frame on drivers side

Ford had a small fuel filter up near ware the fuel line comes into the eighter the carb or fuel injector main on some fuel injucter engines . Im not sure what engine you have .But my ford use to give me a lot of problems with this filter until i cut into the fuel line and added a inline filter before it mine is an 85 . So look where the fuel line attaches to the fuel inlet its a 3 or 4 dollar part but its a vary fine mesh filter and clogs easy the older the vehicle is the more sediment you end up with in your tank .I did mine 10 years ago haven't had a problem sence Good luck

No parking lights and dashboard lights in a 1988 ford crown victoria wagon... in need of diagram for the fuse box, unless problem is else where. the fuse box diagram would help either way.....

obtain a fuse tester and test the fuses to the left under the steering column. unless you have a the chilton/hanes/owner manual that will tell you the direct fuse. the fuse is definately out. the fuse controls those exact lights.

Probably the heater motor resistor.Located under the hood.Look by where heater hoses go into the firewall.Held in with 2 sheet metal screws.May also find the plug is burnt too and is available at any Ford dealer.
