I have a 1999 neon I replaced Timing belt waterpump it still overheats

Have you not suspected a failed head gasket,
done a cylinder combustion gas test or other
tests!!

I assume the timing belt is on correctly, the thermostat
is working & the radiator is not clogged or exhaust
converter not blocked

Most all issue except the head gasket are from failure
to replace some item based on time in
years or mileage

If your working in your driveway & run out of ideas,
you need to know when to seek help at a local shop

At least go there & ask questions, you don't have to
leave the car or pay for that

I have a 2004 Dodge NEON with an interference engine that the timing belt broke on. What are the chances of valve damage and about how much does that cost to fix?

The valves will be bent and you will need a head job done. The time to do the job outside head reconditioning would be around 4 hours labour and the parts will include valves, head gasket kit, timing belt, adjuster pulley, and if the job is done properly crankshaft and cam shaft seals as oil is the main cause of belt failure.

Just replaced blown head gasket now the car takes a long time to start and when it does it runs very ruff at idle but at 1500 rpm it levels out

What kind of damage could i do to my dodge 2001 neon running with number 3 piston havng no compression

what probably happened is that when your timing belt broke the #3 piston most likely hit the valves hence the lost of compression. you will need to take the cylinder head off and have it rebuilt.

I NEED THE PROBLEM SOLVED ON 2001 DODGE NEON THE ALT BELT WONT STAY ON JUST A CLICK OR TWO AND IT COMES OFF COUPLE MONTHS AGO I REPLACED TIMING BELT HEAD GASKET AND VALVES IN HEAD WAS REPLACE PUT IT...

it sounds like you have a pulley alignment problem with one of the pulleys.did you have any left over washers or spacer not put back.the other problem is the belt tensioner may be worn and need replacing.these are the usual things that cause a belt coming off.if the belt is not on all the pulleys correctly it can throw a belt also.make sure there isn`t something(like a part of the timing cover)sometimes it doesn`t take much to cause this.

MY 1998 DODGE NEON WONT START. I WAS TOLD TO REPLACE THE CAM SENSOR AND DID SO. THE COIL WAS CHECKED AND ITS GOOD. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM

I bought one with the same problem, the mechanic chaged: camshaft sensor (it was ok), the coil pack (was ok too), the pcmodule( ok too) the arness (ok) and did not start. I checked timing belt and was ok. but wen I did the compresion test , every cilynder was too low ( 10 30 an 0), my firsth idea was head gasket replecement, and wen was remooving the camshaft sprocket Bingo: the small pin was broken (that means that the camshaft sprocket was not align in time) Had to chage the head an the camshaft both in terrible shape. bad lobes and cam bearings worn out. wen I crancked it start at the first time. PD. the head wasnt craked, the head gasket was good too and the valves ok .

97 dodge neon timing belt broke while going down the road need to know how to get car back in time bought a new timing belt new tensioner and still cannont get car to start junk yard says my car does not...

I do not have good news for you.
According to the Gates Timing Belt guide 2002 Edition, both engines offered in the Dodge Neon are interference engines.
This means that your engine has likely sustained sgnificant valve, cylinder head or even piston damage. Have you tested the compression?
It is probably least expensive to buy a used engine, change its timing belt and replace your engine with that one.
