The 2wd is pretty straight forward but I would be careful of his diagnosis. A lot of people think that the noise from the input shaft bearing is being caused by the throw out bearing. Be sure the noise is when you have your foot pushed down on the clutch. If the noise is present when your foot is off the clutch and loudest while driving in first gear, then the problem is with a bearing inside the transmission and it will have to be taken apart.

How to replace a clutch on 1990 Isuzu trooper.

QOD: are you dead SURE the slave is ok? moves .75 to 1inch and OK?
2wd or 4wd? not stated.?
no engine stated? v6 or i4?

the procedure is same on all 4wd cars/trucks(mostly)
some pull the engine , for sure if engine needs work,as most do
after 25 years,
or pull transfer case and trans, pulled at the bell.
depends too,if you like spending long time under car
or on top, bent over fenders. (and tools)
if engine out no need to drain 1 or 2 gear boxes..and links,console..endless details....4wd lots more....

the video above shows the odd DUCK, throw out bearing.
and is important to know all that,
why not get a service manual..>?or use mitchell's????

not too many 1990 on the road.
rare car and year.
done many jeeps and rice 4wd.
2.6L,, SACHs 9.5" clutch $120 ($300 is bs)
or
2.8 v6 SACHs 9.125" clutch. $170

see they are not the same.....
I like Sachs, as you can see.. china clones not.

do you know how to fit the flywheel pilot bushing
and inspect fly surface, ?

the staging on the 9 bolt PP is here

im online now at one famous site
and the install skips, pilot bearing, funny that.
a real service manual is far better.

26a-3xydvjc2hsdtpbulwfi331lq-2-1.jpg slave to fork lever to above damage, at T/o bearing
trans mission pilot shaft tip wrecked, or spline wrecked?
or you wiggle said shaft and front bearing in the box is SHOT.?
flywheel warped, or?
just saying, ive seen it all there, every fail.
on some all those were bad, on many 25year old cars.

I have a 1990 isuzu pick up with a manual clutch, my clutch pedal acts like its sticking when letting foot off of clutch what do i need to do to get my clutch to release normally

Replace the throw out bearing. If it were mine I would replace the clutch package and master and slave. Resurface the flywheel or replace it. You have to pull the transmission to replace the bearing. Do it all at once and forget about it. All those parts will run about $400.

Whining in transmission

If the noise was not there before any work was done
recently, then you may be on to something

I would say the whining is in the trans, front input bearing
One of those things you just have to replace & see what happens
That is a home project, not one you pay someone to do
& have no idea what was done

I do all my own work, so I can learn things & control the process

I have all drive shafts checked for being straight, install or have
installed all new joints & always have them balanced

I have all flywheels & clutch assy balanced, only when it it necessary
to have things apart to start with

2000 yr.isuzu 250 kb diesel has a noise coming from gearbox area when moving into 5th gear

Its a manual trans right? Those are probably worn syn rings in the transmission, or a loose throw out bearing on the clutch. but if it was a throw out bearing it should be happening in all gears. So its probably worn sync rings in the trans. this means you need your trans rebuilt. go to a local trans shop. to make it shift easier for now, try to match the speed of the car with the speed of the engine. what i mean is when upshifting to 5th gear, wait for a sec til the engine drops in rpms to shift (wait til the rpms are they would be right after you shift into gear). This will allow you to shift without syncs, and make it an easier shift. don't worry its easier then it sounds. but best to get it fixed

92'isuzu pick-up, 2.3L.manual tran. the truck starts and it goes into all gears, but it hardly moves.I adjusted the clutch cable and it got better I always had to adjust the cable. now it bearly move on...

Yes it is time to install a new clutch kit(clutch disc, pressure plate ,throw out bearing and pilot bearing)also have the flywheel resurfaced. The disc has gotten too thin to be clamped by the pressure plate.Best if you replace everything at once with new parts, avoid rebuilt parts.Good luck!

I have a 1989 Isuzu pickup 2.3 5 speed . and the car runs fine however when it get to a certen speed in each gear a horrable screaching comes from what i am guessing the trans.can any one help.

replace the clutch assembly, your problem is most likely the throw out bearing. I say replace the clutch because you are in the heart, so to avoid doing it later do it now.
