If you can't find any visible signs of a leak, under the vehicle or in the engine compartment etc, have the vent system checked for blockages or damaged pipes.

Fumes inside 1998 subaru forester

I had a 2000 with leaking fuel lines. There are a few molded rubber lines. Check the condition of the rubber and the hose clamps. If they are wet, you have a leak. When replacing use the good clamps that you can tighten with a nut driver

you need to google this issue, and do a search for subaru gas odor on youtube. it is a common subaru under hood fuel line problem and there is a simple fix. you need the pictures however to understand the issue and the repair. there are more than a few sites out there with pictures.

2000 f250 7.3 4x4 has been well used for hauling 7000 lb trailer approx 7 to 10 k miles with 117454 total miles has brownish color on trany pan and check ingin light just came on kelly b book says $12,800...

to be honest these are damn good trucks. Have a few where i work at and always pulling trailers with equipment. the one i drive has 170,000 and still runs strong. But i would look into the check engine light before purchase. You should always take a car to a mechanic for an inspection before you purchase so you know what you are buying. If you are selling it then sell high obviously and put the the words or best offer behind your price. price seems a bit high up there but still fair.

Buying 2001 RX300 65,000 miles extra clean

If you aren't mechanical, have someone who is check the car out. Specifically, the transmission fluid for color and smell (On toyota's they are to be changed every 30K miles, few drivers do this), and pull the spark plugs to see if they all appear relatively clean (a burnt looking plug indicates an engine problem). Ask to see the maintenance records. Oil should be changed every 3-4,000 miles if regular oil, 8-10,000 if synthetic.

The next BIG thing regarding maintenance is timing belt and water pump at 90,000 miles. Expect 500-700 for this, not at the lexus dealer. Probably double at the lexus dealer.

I would be interested under 12,000. Very interested under 10,000.

FYI, I'm driving a 95 ES300 with 170,000 miles and it runs like a top. These cars require very little in the way of repair if they are maintained. My goal is 300,000 just to see if it can be done. Unfortunately, I drive a total of 1,000 miles a month these days. So it will be a while. On the interior, you can have very nice new leather seats installed if the rest of the interior is in reasonable shape. Cost around $1,000 or a little less.

Good luck!!

Multiple issues

2. Interior and exterior lights. The other day I was detoured thru an area; hit a hard bump and all interior lights went out. Upon further inspection found all exterior lights were not working except brake and turn signal which are fine. I checked the fuses. Ohmed the relay coil and contacts in a de-energized position which all apear fine. I even removed the light harness for my trailer lights.

Don't blame the bump, blame the assholes at Chrysler. Have it checked at dealer, you will get Front Control Module and Power Distribution Module both have internal shorts. Get your money out and slap down about $600 to have them fix it. This is a quite common problem with the Chrysler Vehicles. They are laughing all tghe way to the bank. No more Dodges for me ...............ever!
