SOURCE: CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR 20002 NISSAN ALTIMA

1st, Nissan had a recall on Crank position sensors for 2002-2006 Altima's. Check with you dealer before you go doing any repairs. You may discover you can get your car repaired at no charge.
NHTSA Campaign ID number :O7V527000
Symptom: Erratic behavior. Stalling and no starts and very difficult to diagnose due to the time frame in which the component actually malfunctions. The warranty should not be limited to the original owner.
I would also need more specifics as to which engine you have so I might assist you in where the location of the sensor is. The Altima had a 4 and a 6 cyl engine offered that year.

How to drop the drive shaft to get to the vapor canister to replace.2002 Hyundai Santa fe AWD GLS MODEL

Exactly which driveshaft do you mean? The one that goes front to back, (prop shaft), or the driveshaft going to the actual wheel?
If you are going to remove any of the drive/prop shafts you will need to drain the transmission oil. This will stop it dribbling all over the floor when the shaft comes out of the transmission! REMEMBER to Refill the Transmission BEFORE you drive it!
The 'prop shaft' is the easier of the two to remove BUT they are VERY heavy so have someone help. One end is fastened to the Differential flange with 4 bolts, the other sliding on a splined shaft at the transmission end.
Driveshafts to the wheel are a lot more work. You have to strip the lower half of the suspension to get the shaft out and the 'castle nut' at the hub end can be very tightly fitted.

Replaced both front wheel brg/hub assy's on a 09 Nissan Murano but I still have a rotational growl sound coming from the front end. vibration felt thru front floors on drvr&psngr sides? Any ideas?

possible problem cv joints or drive shafts
check with a drive line specialist shop as some manufacturers fit a balance to the shafts to stop vibration
have them check the cv joints while you are there

Hi my hilux has developed a clunk when pulling away and changing gear sounds like the prop???

Apply parking break. Gently rock vehicle forward / reverse. Thud location should be more prominent. Either drive shaft cradle, U-Joint, or rear differential bump stops.
Other issues may include wheel lug torque / loose wheel, or loose axle U-Bolt Hanger to leaf springs.
If clearance permits, crawl under vehicle and move, shake, twist drive shaft with your hands. The cause should obvious... Good Luck!

Where is the prop shaft located?

Your vehicle doesn't have a PROP shaft. Yours has a drive shaft. Prop shafts are normally on 4x4 trucks and refer to front drive shaft. What trouble are you having with the cruise control?

GET IT TO A MECHANIC!! Something is loose or about to collapse! Remember that vibration and noise can travel away from the source so get the mechanic to start in that corner.
You need to get the following checked!
-Prop shaft mountings at transfer box.
-Prop shaft mountings at differential.
-Prop shaft bearings.
-Differential condition and oil level.
-Drive shafts at differential end.
-Drive shafts at the wheel end.
-All flexing joints in the system including UV joints and CV joints.

I have a 2000 AWD Chrysler Town and Country. I need to change the output shaft oil seal on the transfer case that goes to the prop shaft and to the back axle. Do I drop the prop shaft down and then...

you are correct on the whole sequence you explanined, just be sure to have a pan to catch the fluid that will come out of the trans when you pull the output shaft out.. as far as how tight to put the nut back on, cant really anwer that question...it doesnt have a crush sleeve or anything in to to worry about messing up, so as long as its tight you will be fine, just dont crank on it excessively.

Car will start but will not move.

is it stick shift or auto box???
for stick shift check the clutch is working and the drive shafts are good
if the half shaft if snaped the prop shaft will turn but the car wont move!
if its an auto box check it is full of oil as well and then check the gear shift is working some times they just fall off,,,,,if the prop shaft is turning and the car wont move the fault is in the rear axle (drive shafts snaped)
