1st check the oil, if the oil level is ok then you will need to install a manual oil pressure gage to get an actual reading on the oil pressure, i think you will need an oil pump, the rattle is the valve train running low on oil pressure. you need to get this checked NOW don't drive the car until you have this checked or you might need more than just a pump. the new pump would much cheaper than an engine.

Have you noticed any smoke from the exhaust? Examine your tailpipe while the car is idling look for any liquid such as water or an oil mixture coming out of it (DO NOT TOUCH THE TAIL PIPE AS IT GETS EXTREMELY HOT IN A VERY SHORT TIME) It helps while doing this if you have a friend rev up the engine several times while you are examining it. You could have a cracked head or in need of a head gasket soon. Getting the compression checked is also a wise idea. Have you noticed if the car has been running hot at all or having an odd smell after the engine warms up?

Check oil level, if full may need changed,if not dirty than oil pump is clogged or going bad, that sound is lack of oil on lifters and rocker arms, when u go faster it has more pressure so sound goes away.

2001 chevy suburban. I hear a humming noise from the engine. Engine ticks while idle for after a few minutes. Ticking goes away when I accelerate. There is a strong vibration when I accelerate in drive but...

Ticking sounds like a dry lifter, when was the last time you changed the oil and filter? Humming sounds like you need a tire rotation because of uneven tire wear.

2003 echo oil light flickers

Well it could be an oil pressure problem, or a faulty oil pressure switch, or something in the wiring harness.
I would have the oil pressure checked with a mechanical gauge.

Old oil can do this...replace the oil, with a lower grade 10w30 and have your oil pump checked if the problem continues.

Not enough info...but probably not.
Two things spring to mind.
Heat shield on the exhuast is loose
or is your oil okay? maybe the tappets need attention.
Good luck.
