I am trying to replace a bulb in the rear tail light of my Chevrolet Lacetti. I have opened the tailgate and removed the two screws which hold in the light assembly but still cannot get the assembly out. I have then peeled back the carpeting inside the trunk area to reveal the back part of where the assembly is located. This is where I get stuck as there does not seem to be any screws or anything. All there is are two plastic things which move when I jiggle the light assembly but does not seem any way of taking them off! Can anyone please help? Thanks you.

Try to turn the two plastic things counterclockwise to loosen them...on many GM tail assemblies these are actually hold-down screws...to re-install insert onto bolt and turn clockwise to securely tighten...you probably did not have to remove the two other screws...Hope this helps.

How to replace the bkake light switch on a 2004 avanche?

Open the tailgate and remove the two screws on the inside of the tailgate wall which hold the tail light assembly. Then pull the whole tail light away from the truck. There will be a couple of plastic pins holding it on. Gently pry those out with a screw driver if they don't come by themselves. When the light mechanism is free, push in and twist the bulb socket release tab and it should release the bulb from the assembly. Take the bulb out of the socket and replace. Twist and push the socket back into the tail light mechanism. Push plastic pins back in and reinstall the two screws. Test signal and brakes.
