If the handle is working but still stuck then the shoes have rusted to the drums and need to be knocked free by removing the wheel and taking a big hammer and knocking the drums till they free up

Changed shoes and hardware and can't get the drums on without forcing them on.

Your emergency brakes are engaged. Most likely the cables are rusted and won't release. Cut them near the rear brakes, adjust the shoes to fit the drum. replace them when you can.

94 mazda protage car wont start no power and the gear shift wont move

Your gear shift won't move because there is an interlock which prevents taking your car out of PARK unless your foot is on the brake. Since the release solenoid is electric, and you appear not to have any electricity, you will not be able to move the shift lever unless you use the Emergency Release (described in your Owner's Manual).
As to your lack of power, perhaps a dead battery? (Good place to start checking!)

How to release an emergency brake that is stuck

You have limited choices. Your biggest concern will be the Racheting action of the Emergency brakes which takes up slack.

Check online for the Emergency Brake Assembly for your Model. There should be pictures and mention of the release mechanism. They are made to allow the cable spool to unspool, usually by moving a tab with a screwdriver tip.

Now on the wheel end, the mechanism may pull the brake levers to spread the Brakes. The pivot for the wheel lever may be frozen or the cable frozen in its travel zone.

So you have the possibility of devices taking up slack at both ends of the brake cable. Not familiar with Mazda design, if it has a hand lever for Parking brake. This style can be auto-rachet or mechanical nut and bolt style to increase or decrease cable length.

The more photos you see about the components, the better off you will be. I hope I have been helpful.

Emergency brake sticking.....i think. Mazda B4000 pickup

Are you sure it is the emergency brakes?Or is it a caliper stuck, because it is bad,or the caliper brake hose is stopped up?Jack the wheels up,one at a time, and try to see if they will turn by hand. This will tell you if it is front,or rear.If it is the emergency brake, then the cable from the front,to the bake,is most likely the problem,it is rusted ,and frayed, and stuck, you will have to disconnect it at the rear, from the brakes. If this helps, let us know,If it is the calipers,in the front, the wheels will not turn by hand.Brake loose the caliper bleed screw, and if the caliper turns the wheel loose, then the brake hose is bad,if it does not ,then the caliper is bad on that wheel.

2001 Mazda B2300 engine repair and compatibility

If you threw a rod,This would be a total engine rebuild.(Cost vary by location)
You can use the Ranger motor ,but you will need to swap most of the accessories from the Mazda motor so the wiring harnesses match up.

Please rate this a fixya

Braking problem

I think your Mazda has anti-lock brakes regardless of where it was made and these can fail.
If the braking computer is working OK, check your electrical system for proper function then a (lousy) Saturn I owned would not release the brakes after use if the alternator was failing and the battery voltage down. More than once, I had to floor the gas to get the beast to drag itself from the street.
(Still HATE that car!)
