Yea, this codes means a problem with your VVTI Bank2, this controls valve timing to get the most eficiency and power possible, you need to take it to a dealer ship for proper diagnostic, it can get expensive, hope you did chance your oil frecuently,

Toyota sienna 1998 engine light is on

this mean the there is a code stored in the car's computer. You will need to visit a parts store or shop that reads the code. They can tell what the code is turning on the engine check light. Most auto part stores can read it for free. But in some cases u might have to see a mechanic to interpret the codes.

2001 Toyota Sienna CEL displayed code P1150 & P0420 what could be the problem

Mine is a 2001 Sienna LE. I got the P0420 code and the dealer want to replace an engine control computer for $1600. I've found posts that say you can replace your oxygen sensors, which still costs around $100 each. The P0420 seems to be emissions related. When my check engine light comes on, I run the highest grade, no ethanol gas, and usually within a couple of tanks, the light goes off again. The last time it happened about 2 wks ago, I put in the 93 octane no ethanol premium and a can of Seafoam and within a half a tank, the light went out. Your problem might be more serious, and I don't know what the 1150 code is, but so far that's worked for me.

2001 Toyota Sienna, P1135 and P1155, idles good, when at 35-40 mph, runs good. But when accelerating, must have light steady touch on gas pedal or the car chokes, misses, bogs down, all other vehicles are...

I assume its a petrol version ,,Now first thing is check out O2 sensors with a voltmeter ,undo plug in turn and check for 12v feed with ignition on ,this will be two wires the same colour normally white ,now check for continuety on the sensor end of the plug .Now if this checks then reconnect the plug using a small pin push through the wire to gain contact and start engine and check voltages ,should run between 0.120 to 750 as engine is revved .if no reading or it stays the same normally around 700 then renew .Use universal ones around 50euros each These must be working correctly or the symptoms are exactly as you describe .You cannot remove the catalyitic converters as this means the vehicle will be poluting the atmosphere also it will not pass the annual vehicle inspection .Also yes the throttle position can cause similar problems plus a few other things as well .If you are not capable of this sort of work then use a local mechanic to check it out for you.

I have a problem with my 2001 Toyota sienna, took it to inspection yesterday to get inspected and didn't pass results Cat not ready and evap not ready, inspector tell us run the car couple miles and bring...

If the "evap not ready" readiness monitor never clears and you keep getting P0440,P0441,P0446 type codes, then you have a problem with the evap system. You have already tried the gas cap (good start) but there are about 6 other things it can be from electrical VSV air valves (there are 3 of them, 2 under the hood, 1 near the charcoal cannister (behind fuel tank) to 2 air operated valves on the front of the same cannister. There is also an air line that goes to one of the electric VSV valves on the air cleaner under the hood. Several oil change places have been guilty of pullling these off and not reconnecting them.
We have a page with pictures of our experience,

Service code of P420 on Toyota Sienna.

Hi my name is Juan and if you can wait one more day I am at work and I don't have my book with all the codes and once I get to it I can give you more recommendations but don't thrush what the dealer say they like to do this because they do thing that most of the costumers don't know nothing about cars and most people make this big mistake in say yes ok and let them do the repairs sometimes they tell costumers that there vehicles have 2 or more problems and this is not true sometimes is just a loose wire and they charge hundreds of dollars but they never tell you oh it was just a loose wire is 30dls so if you really need a cat-- replacement take your car to a muffler shop they can also do this job and for a lot lot less they charge around 300 to 400 hundred dls for this thanks and I'll let you know your code tomorrow
