Depending on the model year etc, yes. Starting in the late 1980's GM. began controling some of them eletronics. If you have a power problem, it will affect them.

"Tranny not shifting properly. Dead battery recently. Could the tranny problem be electrical? Does a computer need a reboot? Audi A6"

Not likely related to the battery dying. Have your transmission oil replaced as a start, this fixes a lot of transmission issues. If that doesn't work, have it checked by a transmission shop, could be anything from a switch to a transmission rebuild.

The automatic transmission wont shift past 2nd gear

The transmission in the truck is shifted by electric solenoid valves and they are controlled by a computer. What must be done now is to the system control module scanned for fault codes and proper diagnostics performed based on that information.

Won't shift properly

Sorry to say, but the mini vans have always been plagued with poor transmissions. Unless you know anything about transmissions you will need to take it to a transmission shop somewhere for diagnosis.

1997 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 p0758 Won't shift

P0758 code is shift solenoid B electrical /2-3 shift solenoid circuit electrical, It better to inspect the wire going into the transmission they have a tendency to leak transmission fluid into the circuit make inspection for proper connection if you decide to replace the solenoid you still need to inspect the circuit for proper mating. If this solenoid fails and you wait to long to replace it you can loose the ECM due to the high power draw it takes from the ECM.

Van did not shift correctly; very slow but finally did shift gears. Advance Auto machine showed code P1715. What does this mean?

It means shift solenoid B inductive signature. Basically, the van is not able to properly control it's shifts due to either an electrical problem leading in to the transmission solenoids or due to an internal transmission issue. This is not something you really want to mess around with. The transmission sounds like it is basically in 'fail-safe' mode meaning that it is trying to protect itself even though there is a problem in the system. I highly recommend you get it to a shop ASAP so that you minimize the damage.

Trans shifts late 1993 nissan 300zx TPS code no signal or short to bround

This car is nearing transmission failure. Get this car to a reputable shop right away for proper diagnosis; it could be anything from a plugged filter to an electrical failure. Either one can kill the transmission, but there is a chance that the transmission's proper function can be restored if looked after immediately.

Transmission does not shift at the proper RPM. The engine over revs before it shifts. Does Vacuum or electric shift these transmissions? If it is electric, does it have a relay?

At your Bronco's age, the vacuum hoses are suspect. The plastic ones break, the rubber ones crack and leak. There is a specific one to the transmission to control shifting, usually. Some vehicles have a modulator valve on the transmission; when it fails you will see white smoke at the tailpipe and you will lose trans fluid. Check all the vacuum lines, large and small. A vacuum gauge is a great tool, it will tell you a lot about an engine.

Electrical problem ???

Shift Solenoids at transmission not functioning properly for one reason or another, could be a simple as removing all connectors and cleaning thoroughly with electrical cleaner & re-install with di-electric grease, but don't let it go, as transmission repairs are not cheap. Have connections checked, cleaned etc, at a reputable shop, or dealer and erase codes and see if they come back. Does transmission feel like it shifting differently than usual?

1st and 2nd shift error on code reader in trans

Shift error codes are enabled not only if the solonoids are faulty, does your scanner show you the solonoids switching? you could have a wiring fault. It could also be the pcm not allowing the solonoids to activate. These complicated systems are very difficult to diagnose for us profesionals with all the scanners and machines we have. Find a transmission shop in your area with a system to drive the vehicle bypassing the computor system, this will determine electrical or internal trans failure. But before you do anything check your conections from the transmission to the pcm. Also all the engine conectors and earth straps.
