Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. Since the sound comes while cranking, I would say for sure that it is your starter or starter solenoid. You need to change it as soon as you can. It won't be long until it will not start. As always, we appreciate you very much. Thanks for using FixYa.

Speedometer fuel guage

Probably replacing the speed sensor on the transmission.Have the codes read, even if the light is not on. Look at the pending codes. The fuel gauge would be the sending unit in the tank. That act funny like that sometimes.

Fuel gauge stays on full

You may have a unique problem!!! Normally I would say it is the sending unit- in the fuel tank!!!! But Buick LeSabre had a weird thing happen from time to time. Look closely at your fuel guage and focus on the PIN that acts as a stop for the fuel guage to not go beyond the Full mark. Make sure the pin is on the correct side of the pin!!! Sometimes the needle will somehow jump the pin on "E" or "F", and literally hold the needle in place.

My first guess would have been an issue with your sender and when the Evap solenoid is working.
Maybe its something with the tank venting (not as in taking out anger). See what happens when the noise appears and you pull the fuel cap off.

Can the computer on the gran prix get up dates? sometimes it acts like it dosent have any gas when its on full and u can hear static sometime thru the radio....

that is not related to the ecu of the car, the gas guage is a sending unit in the tank that is with the fuel pump that is most likely going bad, and for the radio it has a ground loop and thats what you are hearing, there is a kit for sale at radio shack to solve the ground loop noises

Just filled the gas tank in my 2006 f-350 turbo diesel super duty (6.0), started the truck and the guage showed a full tank. Drove down the road about 1/10 of a mile and the guage dropped to dead empty...

A loose connection on the sending unit could cause the problem but also moisture in the tank in cold weather could also be a factor in which i would add fuel line antifreeze to a full tank of fuel..........Hope this helps you out.

Is my fuel pump ready to go out if the fuel guage starts acting weird in my 05 f-150?

No, they might share the same plug but they are wired differently. They are mounted on the same assembly in the tank though.

Gas guage not reading accurate

Your sending unit inside of the fuel tank is probably faulty. Unfortunately you have to drop the tank to change it.
