Is it crtical that fuel cap makes an airtight seal on this car Nissan Micra 2004 Petrol

I'm not an auto mechanic - Can't speak for every car or fuel cap, but in general there must be a vent for the fuel tank either thru a vent built into the cap or separately. A fuel tank with no vent will build a vacuum as fuel is pumped out to the engine and eventually the fuel pump will stop pumping if unable to overcome the vacuum or if powerful enough, the vacuum will cause the fuel tank to collapse. Air must enter somehow! Possibly cars these days have a filter/absorbent on a d dedictated vent to remove potential dust and moisture, but none of my cars ever had a fuel vent filter replaced. My guess is that an airtight seal is not critical on any gas or diesel tank cap.

What cause gas tank to have pressure

this is normal, 100%,
if it truly is pressure and not a vacuum sound?
my wild guess , head the gas cap go whooooosh... as you unscrewed it? this pressure is normal.
the is a feature set of the EVAP system.

if how ever, it sucks, air called a vacuum, that means the gas cap is wrong. (for sure)
the correct cap has vacuum breaker valve inside, if missing
the gas tank will implode and engine stalls.
proof of that

THIS MAY BE A BAD FUEL PUMP PROBLEM. IS THERE 2 FUEL PUMPS IN VEHICLE? 1 LOW PRESSURE PRIMING PUMP LOCATED IN TANK, & HIGH PRESSURE PUMP LOCATED IN THE MID FRAME OF VEHICLE ON DRIVERS SIDE OF TRUCK.?

Truck wont start...remove gas cap and it starts...why?

Does it make a whooshing noise when it is being removed? The only thing that springs to mind is that your gas tank is plugged creating a vacuum in the tank starving the vehicle of fuel. Does the car stall when the cap is replaced?

How do i depressurize the gas tank? on a 1995 nissan altima

HI,
If you mean the fuel line, start the engine, then remove the fuel pump relay , when not enough fuel pressure to run the engine, it will die and line will be depressurized. The tank itself only has minimal pressure which is vented. Removing the filler (gas) cap will relieve any excess pressure in the tank...Mike

Nissan 300 ZX 1995. Passenger door handle - outside.

The door handle is held in by 2 10mm nuts. Pull the clear plastic back to see. They are a little tricky to get off but not too difficult. Don't forget to remove the rod for the lock cylinder.
