If you are are talking about TPMS, most definitely. unless you have the vehicle taken to a shop that can swap or replace the transponders in each wheel and have them recalibrated to your new alloys

AWD disable light is coming on after tires were changed?

Hi! First of all, make sure the correct size tires were installed. There should be a tire size application inside the drivers front door jamb. An incorrect tire size can give the wheel sensors improper measurements of rotation to the computer and thus set the light to come on. Also it may be just a coincidence the light came on when they installed the tires. Your local auto parts dealer may check your computer for free, give them a call first! Hope this helps. G

Abs light not turn off

THE LIGHT ONCE ON INDICATES THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE SYSTEM, ARE ALL THE TYRES OF THE SAME SIZE? REMOVE ALL THE WHEELS AND INSPECT THE SENSORS AND THERE WIRE CONECTIONS A BROKEN SENSOR WIRE OR TRIGGER WHEEL WILL CAURSE THE LIGHT TO COME ON, ALSO IF DIRTH GET STOCK BETWEEN THE SENSOR AND WHEEL. AS THE WHEELS ARE OF CHECK FOR LEAKS ON THE SYSTEM LOW FLUID PREASURE WILL CAURSE THE LIGHT ON IF ALL THAT CHECKS OUT OK THEN CHECK THE ABS FUSE.

Do oversized tires alter the speedometer. The speedometer stated i was going 65 and the state police clocked me at 79 mph.

Most certainly does
You need a different gear in the trans or transfer case, that drives the speedo
Now if the speed sensor is the output, then you will need help. I personally do not know, if a scan tool can reprogram the ecm/bcm etc, to correct for the tire change.

Ask that question next.

Abs fault light comes on even when not using brakes

If you start the vehicle and the ABS light never goes out it is failing its self check test. Typically a bad wheel speed sensor will cause this.

If the light comes on when you start it, goes out shortly after, but comes on after driving for a little bit than the problem may be a little bigger. Wheel speed sensors could still be the problem but you could also have issues with wheel bearings, exciter rings, solenoids, or modules.

The best thing to do is have the ABS module scanned for codes. This will narrow down the possibilities significantly. Post the codes here and we'll be more than happy to guide you to the next step.

On 2 separate occasions in the last month while I was driving my car suddenly starts violently shaking like I'm driving over a washboard. It lasts for about 10-15 seconds, goes away for about 10-15...

ok your problem is with the wheel the wheel speed sensor is reading a different speed prolly 1-2 mph difference so the dump valve in the abs is triggering i would change that wheel fast or youll be putting brake pads/shoes on that side very quickly. once you change the wheel pull the abs fuses or battery cable for 5 minutes then you should be good to go.as far as the spongyness pedal it will go away soon as the wheel is changed. if you still have the abs and brake light on you will need to pull some codes for us to help you some more.you 15" wheel is spinning faster then the 16" wheel the faster you go the bigger the difference will be between the 2.hope to hear good new back from ya.

01 vw jet ars light on

If you are using the same sensors that came with the vw in the same positions there should be no problem. Some aftermarket wheels do not work with tire sensors(check with wheel manufacturer). Just some thoughts....or try recalibrating

2001 chevy silverado anti lock brakes

You most likely have a wheel speed sensor dropping out this would make abs system think one wheel is locking up and therefore activate. this usually will happen rt before you stop at around 5mph or so.Also if you have bigger tires than factory and have not had abs programmed for this size it can aggravate it

Front wheel bearings

THe tire size is very important.
Originally ford aspire had 155 70 r 13.
It is impossible to find the same size in USA.
If you put a bigger tire...then you brake the wheel bearing.
My 2 cents
