Question about Chevrolet Caprice

1 Answer

I have a 94 Chevy Caprice. The problem is that I am not getting any fire to the #1 cylinder. And the others have a orange looking spark. I have changed the spark plug wires. I am familiar with the electrinc distributor, but not so much with this. Can you offer any help? Thanks

It's 1994 Chevy caprice an I have the Arkthe spark I can't adjust it

You have spark/arc at the plug. Look at timing, fuel pressure. Get the engine at TDC #1, compression stroke.. Pull the distributor cap, see where the rotor button is setting. Tab should be pointing at the #1 cylinder. Fuel pressure , Guessing, 30 to 40 pounds. Been to long and you have to check at the fuel filter. No shrader valve for this.

Where is the spark plugs in a 94 chevy caprice?

They are in the cylinder heads. Just follow your plug wires from the distributor cap and the other end goes to the spark plug.

I need the spark plug wiring diagram for a 1994 caprice classic 305

firing order of a small block chevy engine is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2, clockwise-#1 on the front driver side (1,3,5,7 on driver sied, 2,4,6,8 on passenger side)-#1 should be about the 7 o'clock position, but to be certain, rotate the crank (loclkwise) until the 0 degree mark on the balancer lines up with the scale-look at the installed rotor-it is either pointed at the 7 o'clock position or the o'clock position-with the plug in #1 removed, rotate it again to see if the cylinder pushes air (compression)-that is where #1 plug wire belongs. just plug them in in order (18436572)-you will still have to time it to start, they usually need to be set a few degrees before top dead center.
