Need to change fan belt don't no how

one belt operation: loosen the alternator bracket bolt, and slider bolt. Push Alternator as far down as possible. Remove old belt (will come off over fan). If this is a serpentine, look at the belt layout to see how it is on. (belt route) - put new belt on; pull alternator tight and either pry with a hammer or other tool to hold tight while tightening, or have someone hold in place for you while tightening.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

How do you tighten the fan belt?

Focuses use an automatic belt tensioner which has no adjustment (as its spring loaded) if your belt is not tight enough replacement of the tensioner could be necessary..if you're asking due to a squealing problem check the pulley on the tensioner and the idler pulley..they are a common part to need changing

I need to fit a fan belt on a peugeot 306 estate

just in front of the altenator, there is a 10mm bolt, tighten that and it will tighten the fan belt .
these belts are quite tight, make sure the one you have is the correct length, sometimes the suppliers will send one that is close to the correct size, and is sometimes a few milimeters smaller.

You dont normally have to loosen anything else, but the easiest way is to put the belt on the alternator, tensioner and power steering first, then ease the belt over the ridge of the crankshaft last, one rib at a time, but evenly all the way around the pulley.

How do i put the power steering belt in a 1989 cadillac

There are two bolts to loosen. One is in the hole on the pulley. The other is on the bottom behind the pulley. Both were 15mm bolts. I had to take the upper fan shroud off, and the fan and clutch off to get to the botttom bolt. Once loosened, pry the power steering pump/pulley closer and put the belt on. Then pry it back and tighten the bolts.

Step by step instructions replace alternator on a 2000 Lincoln Continental

Hello, first of all disconet your battery. Then locate your alternator and remove the wiring. You will then see two bolts, one is for your fan belt adjustment, take this bolt out and dont loose it. The second bolt is much longer, this is the bolt that allows you to move your alternator back and forth so that you can tighten your fan belt. Remove this and as you pull it out hold onto yoour alternator as it will now come out. You then position new alternator sliding long bolt back in place. Do it up but not tightly at this point. Replace the smaller bolt and make sure that you put your fan belt back on. Pull the alternator tighly onto the fan belt before tightening the smaller bolt. Once the fan belt is tight you can then tighten the long bolt. Reconct your wiring, reconect you battery and you should be right to go. If theres a squealing sound when you start the car you may have to retighten your fan belt, you dont need to take any wiring off to do this. I hope this is helpfull.

How do i put on a new fan belt on a 2000 golf tdi?

Well for the fan belt its really simple: You need: a 13mm Socket, a 6mm Hex bit, and a ratchet, a large crescent wrench would also be helpful.
1. Loosen the 6mm bolt that holds the alternator in.
2. Loosen off the 13mm bolt that is on the bracket.
3. Take the old belt off.
4. Put on the new belt.
5. Slightly tighten the 13mm bolt, and use the crescent wrench to tighten the belt (using the half gear/half nut tightening assembly)
6. Tighten the 13mm.
7. Tighten the 6mm.

you dont need remove the fan or the fan shrow you can put the belt on by looping the belt partially on a fan blade and then turnning the fan blade kinda like a bicycle chain and if it is the power steering belt there is a guard over the top of the pulley just remove the 2 10 milimeter bolts and it will come right off
