The filter is lacated behind the glove box. open glove box and gently squeeze the sides in and it will drop down giving access to a small panel where the filter is located. replace filter, pop box back into place and good to go.

Can I replace on my own the cabin air filter? My car is smelling like vomit when i turn the air on or does this have to go to the shop and if so .... how much will this cost me??

Yes but it's probably not the cabin air filter - your condenser is probably molded or contaminated. Try some condenser disinfectant and check the drain hole (where water drips from when the A/C is on) to see if its plugged.

Removing the cabin air filter on a 2001 mitsubishi galant

Open the glove box and empty the contents. gently push the glove box to the left and slide the stop toward you. Now slide the box to the right to get the left stop unhooked. Letting the glove box hang, look at the long thin plate on the fan shroud and undo the two screws holding it in. Now you can slide the cabin filter tray out of the fan shroud and replace the paper element. If you look at the fan shroud and see the rectangular slot but there are no screws in it , the cabin air filter has not been installed in your model. The rectangle can be cut out with an Exacto knife and the cabin air filter can be installed in the slot. You can purchase the cabin air filter tray, cabin air filter, and mounting screws at the Misubishi dealer. I purchased one out of an Eclipse at a salvage yard for $5 , washed it, and installed a new $10 dollar aftermarket paper element. I no longer have dust on my dash and it only cost $15.

Sounds like a plugged evaporator drain. Pretty common on these cars as many did not have cabin filters.

Ideally you should pull the evaporator box and clean it out, but for a quick fix you can shoot compressed air into the drain tube to clear the blockage.

The drain tube is in the engine bay, on the firewall just above the steering rack, nearer the drivers side. You will need to pull up on the firewall mat/fabric to see it.

1997 mitsubishi eclipse gst wont start it looks that there is no gas,i changed the fuel pump, the air mass ssensorr , and some other sensors

Remove the bottom of your back seat. Turn the ignition on without cranking the car. You should hear the fuel pump prime for a few seconds and shut off. If you don't hear that sound, there are two relays on the right side of the firewall next to the master cylinder that are part of the fuel system. I had one go bad on me (the contact corroded) and didn't know which one it might be so I bought the cheaper of the two. Haven't had a problem since!
