Question about 1997 Dodge Dakota
I own a 97 Dodge Dakota SLT
3.9 liter magnum
Trying to find out where the crank sensor is located. The engine has been replaced two years ago. Check engine light came on and computor has posted this problem. Any help would be appreciated.
Front of the engine near the the timing chain cover, this is a picture. Make sure the connector is clean and free of corrosion.

You will need to remove your right front tire and the plastic wheel house (held on by several plastic rivets that you will break when removing them) the sensor is located on the back of the block between the cylinder head and the bell housing. (2) 1/2" socket heads hold it on. The plug is located on the drivers side of the engine at the end of the fuel rail.
