Make sure that the fuseable link in the stereo's power wire is good, and you need to make sure that there are not two sets of plugins from the factory. If the car was equipped with a factory amp, then there is probably another set of plugs as well.

Have you tested the radio outside of the car? You can do this by connecting the positive and negactive ends to a battery, this will allow you to see if the unit is working.

You have a loose connection somewhere under your dash.

did you have battery disconnected when doing this ? if not you've blown a few fuses there is one on the back of the unit itself and check the fuse box for other blown fuses , when working on electrical system always disconnect battery when at the connection stage

I have a 2001 olds. Alero, it is not charging...we have tried changing the alternator, battery, starter, alt. wires, ignition, nothing has helped.

Hi, check the 10 amp field fuse labeled GEN BATT in the box under the hood. If the fuse is good, the problem is the wiring from the PCM or the PCM itself, which controls the alternator. You can try backprobing the red wire at the alternator connector with a test light to see if the turn-on signal is coming from the PCM. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

2003 olds alero center brake light works but sides don't.

Replace bulbs, one of them is probally bad. Worked on a lot of cars, but my daughter 2001 alero showed me. The car had the same problem, bulbs looked good but one wasn't and that's all it took. Try brand new known to be good bulbs. Ed

2004 Chevrolet Tahoe cd player says changer full and won't work

Bad news. Your CD player isn't any good. I work for Chevrolet and this is a very common problem. The magazine inside the radio (the part that holds the cd's) starts going crooked. I think some real tiny springs that hold it break, causing this problem. Only fix is to replace the radio. First try this. Go to the fuse box under the hood and remove the 'Radio' fuse for 1 minute. This may reset the radio. You may be able to eject any cd's stuck in the radio. May be cheaper to put in an after-market radio. Sorry.
