The torque converter holds about 4 -6 qt's itself. Not positive on your model would star with 4 then check. This is if you did not remove the torque converter, good luck to you.

How does one add transmission fluid to 1995 jeep grand cherokee laredo?

Look for the dipstick where you check the transmision fluid level. If you need any you pour it down the dipstick hole. Add it in small amounts and check in between additions, its really easy to overfill. Once overfilled a real pain to get it out.

I have a 1995 jeep grand Cherokee 4.0 straight 6. I was driving it the other day and all of a sudden it started sounding like it was stuck in first gear..I "can" move it in and out of...

Try turning off the overdrive button and see if the indications change. If they do them the problem could be the overdrive module. But if they don't change then you need a rebuild on the transmission or very good documentation on how to do it yourself (I don't recommend that).

Was going around 60-65 and it wouldn't shift into 4th or OD - the O/D light came on. Did ok going lower speeds. Fluid was 1/4 quart low. 1994 Grand Cherokee Laredo straight 6

sounds like either switch wasn't on, or the transmission is starting to slip. The fluid was just a touch low, but how was the color? smell? if its dark in color, or smells burnt, then you need to have the tranmssion itself replaced. flushing the fluid and filter at this time will not help it out. good luck!

Jeep grand cherokee transmission clunk

well then it sounds to me as if you need a transmission replacement...a flush or service at this point won't do you any good, as the transmission is using the contamination in the fluid to build pressure. so if you flush it all away, then the new fluid is way too thin to build any pressure...just replace your transmission....
