Question about 1998 Dodge Caravan
You remove the neg battery before you start, the only proble is you should have the new computer flash programed first, there are many part stores that will program it for you, not sure if you are going new or used.i have have repleced a few with used and they just plug in and work but the mileage is wrong and the vin # is wrong if you dont care about that then plug and play. if you have a problem which sometimes happens then you will need the dealer to program the computer for you, but you will still save alot by doing it reself, check with who you are buying it from they should ask for the vin # and the mileage and they will program it for you and if thats the case then theres no problem, install and connect the battery and start it, you may have to use the gas pedal to get it started and hold it at idle for a few minute and then let gas go, this is just until the computer relearns the idle, you dont have to hold the gas at exactly the idle speed just hold it to keep it running you can hold it around 1000 rpms doesnt matter. good day,
