It could be a number of different things. Has it been worked on recently, or is the check engine light on? I would be happy to further assist you but there are too many options to what it could be.

I suggest you take your vehicle in to have a computer diagnostic ran on it. They'll probably have to reset it with their equipment.

What does mean reduced engine power in a 2003 chevy silverado

APP 1 and APP 2,Throttle position correllation. Whenever you get a reduced power,It will always be related to the throttle actuator, or APP (accelerated pedal position). There is a disagreement between both position sensor, or the TPS itself.

My engine light just came on and the truck refuses to go over 40mph. whats causing this? i heard it a sensor but where is it this sensor please?

Your Silverado's ECM has detected an issue and has reduced the engine power. You going to have the the truck scanned for the DTC codes so you can address the issue that is causing the reduce power to activate. Auto Zone scan free of charge, good luck and keep me posted.
