In the trunk mounted upside down to the back dash on the driver side is a small black box usually the code is printed on it. if not check with ford dealer and have them look it up using the vin code

What makes a buzzing sound , the door lock actuators ? Or where do you hear the buzzing coming from if not at the doors ?
Power Lock
The power lock/unlock feature requests all of the vehicle doors, including the liftgate, be locked or unlocked upon a customer request from any interior door lock switch in the vehicle. The power door locking system functions independently of ignition status or vehicle speed. When the vehicle security module receives an unlock/lock command from any door lock control switch, the vehicle security module will activate relays internal to the module to supply the correct power and grounds for the door lock actuators.

Pinpoint Test C: The Doors Do Not Lock/Unlock Using The Remote Transmitter
Normal Operation
Remote locking and unlocking of the doors is accomplished by the vehicle security module receiving a command message from the remote transmitter. The vehicle security module processes the command and sends a signal directly to the door lock actuators.
All remote transmitters must be present to begin diagnosis of the remote keyless entry (RKE) system.
Aftermarket or dealer-installed systems may adversely effect the RKE system operation. These systems should be disconnected before diagnosing any RKE concerns.

You can't figure out thing's without knowing how there work , what controls them . In this case a control module .
Principles of Operation

Power Door Locks
The central security module controls the power door lock and keyless entry system. The lock and unlock operation is carried out by supplying ground to the central security module from the door lock control switch. The normal path of the actuators is to ground through the central security module. The door lock control switch will lock and unlock all doors by grounding the appropriate circuit to the central security module. The central security module then supplies power to the appropriate common actuator circuit to lock or unlock all doors.
Plus we don't guess , we test the electrical circuits with a DVOM - digital multimeter or a test light . We use a wiring diagram so we know which part of the circuits to test .

Keyless Entry
The remote transmitter sends a frequency that is received by the central security module internal antenna. Depending on the frequency received, the central security module will lock all doors or unlock the driver door. If the unlock frequency is received again within five seconds of the first unlock, the central security module will unlock all doors.
If the frequency received is for the panic button, the central security module will cycle ground to the park lamp and horn. The park lamps and horn will continue to cycle until the panic button is pressed again or the ignition switch is turned to the RUN position or 2.75 minutes elapse.
Plus we hook up a scan tool that can read codes from the control module , not a code reader for engine codes , won't work ! Need a professional scan tool .Do you know what DTC'S are ? Diagnostic trouble codes !

Seams you lack the knowledge and test equipment to tackle this type of repair . Your best bet mite be to have a qualified repair shop check it out.
So, without testing i couldn't even begin to suggest what mite be wrong . I would only be guessing , as would anyone on here would.

Hi Georgia, try this

Before commencing, ensure all existing wireless door lock transmitters are
functioning correctly.
1. Locate the wireless door lock ECU. It is behind the centre
instrument panel.
2. Disconnect and remove the wireless door lock ECU from the vehicle.
3. Remove the four screws from the bottom of the wireless door lock
ECU, rotate and remove the top cover.

4. Remove the four screws from the bottom of the wireless door
lock transmitter and separate the top and bottom covers.
5. Remove the battery and note position for reassembly.

6. Locate the code ROM within the wireless door lock
transmitter.

7. Remove the code ROM from the wireless door lock transmitter
by carefully sliding back the retainer clip on the ROM socket.

8. Then slide the code ROM out of the ROM socket.

9. Locate the code ROM socket provided on the wireless door
lock ECU circuit board.

10. Slide back the retainer clip of the ROM socket.

11. Carefully insert the code ROM into the unclipped ROM socket,
ensuring the contacts are facing towards the circuit board.

12. Slide the retainer clip of the ROM socket forward to lock
the code ROM into position.
13. With the wireless door lock ECU top cover still removed, reconnect
the ECU to the wire harness taking extreme care not to allow any of the
internal circuitry or components to short out on any part of the vehicle.


14. Once in position, locate the reset button on the wireless
door lock ECU circuit board and press once only.

15. At the same time, confirm ROM coding was established by
observing the extension LED. This LED will flash once to acknowledge that
ROM coding was successful.
16. Carefully disconnect the wire harness from the wireless door lock
ECU and remove from the vehicle.

17. Remove the code ROM from the wireless door lock ECU and
refit into the wireless door lock transmitter's ROM socket.

18. Ensure the code ROM is secured and retained in the wireless
door lock transmitter's ROM socket.

19. Assemble the wireless door lock ECU and install into the
vehicle.
20. Assemble the wireless door lock transmitter. Ensure the battery is
installed with the correct polarity.
21. Check security system operation with all wireless door lock
transmitters.

How do you re-program the security code on a 2007


FORD KEY PADS
  • Enter permanent factory code
  • Press the 1/2 button within 5 seconds to enter programming mode
  • Within 5 seconds enter new code, doors will lock, unlock to verify code, this erases previous codes remotes will also need to be programmed. (MAYBE)
KEY PADS/REMOTES
  • Insert key, turn ignition off-to- on eight times in succession, ending with key in on position doors will lock, unlock to verify in programming mode
  • Press any button on new remote, doors will lock, unlock to verify
  • Do the previous step with the second remote, doors will lock unlock to verify.
  • Turn ignition off. Doors will again lock, unlock to verify.
NOTE-Some vehicles use 5 turns of the key instead of 8

security module in the trunk ???? There is no security module in the trunk . What light's come on by them self ? Park lamps , headlamps , brake lamps ,turn signals etc.... The module for anti-theft is under the right hand side of the dash . The remote keyless entry module is located in the trunk. Is this the part you hear clicking in ?
Door Lock Control Processor, Electronic NOTE: The electronic door lock control system will not function when the ignition switch is in the RUN or ACC position.
The electronic door lock control processor:
  • is located on the LH side of the luggage compartment.
  • contains a radio receiver that receives a signal from the keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601) through electronic door lock control processor antenna, and sends the appropriate command to the power door locks, the horn relay, the indicator flasher, or the anti-theft warning system.
  • is equipped with a battery backup which holds the programmed code in memory in the event the vehicle battery is disconnected.
    • Doors Do Not Lock or Unlock Using Keyless Entry Remote Transmitter
    • Circuit.
    • Electronic door lock control processor.

    • GO to Pinpoint Test B .

take a look at the latches, make sure they are grease good and all working,sometimes one of the latches freezes up, so the door is not completely latched,also you can adjust the striker to lock tighter,this is located on the body, at the top and bottom of the left side door,take a look and see if all latches are latching, use a screw driver to push them locked and see if latec will stay latched in the lock postion. good luck.

KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM With the keyless entry keypad, you can: • lock or unlock the vehicle doors without using the key. Your vehicle has a factory set 5 digit code that operates the keyless entry system. You can also program your own 5 digit personal entry code. The factory-set code is located: • on the owner's wallet card in the glove compartment • or at your dealer. When pressing the controls on the keyless entry keypad, press the middle of the controls to ensure a good activation. This system will disable the power door lock controls. These will not work until the vehicle is disarmed. Programming your own personal entry code To program your own code: 5. Enter factory set code (keypad will illuminate when pressed). 6. Press 1/2 control within five seconds of step 1. 7. Enter your personal 5 digit code. Enter each digit within five seconds of previous one. 8. After the code is entered, the locks will cycle, confirming that the new code has been set. Do not set a code that includes five of the same number or presents them in sequential order. Thieves can easily figure out these types of codes. Your personal code does not replace the permanent code that the dealership gave you. You can use either code to unlock your vehicle. If a second personal code is entered, the module will erase the first personal code in favor of the new code. Locks and Security 149 Locks and Security If you wish to erase your personal code, use the following instructions: 1. Enter factory set code. 2. Press 1/2 control and release. The system will now only respond to the factory set code. Anti-scan feature The anti-scan feature prevents repeated attempts at arriving at a valid key code. The keyless entry pad is disabled for 1 minute after 7 unsuccessful attempts (35 consecutive button presses) at entering a valid key code. The keypad will flash during this 1 minute mode. However, the 7/8 and 9/0 controls will still lock the vehicle. Anti-scan will be turned off after: • one minute of keypad inactivity. • the remote entry transmitter UNLOCK button is pressed. • the ignition is turned to the ON position. Unlocking the doors with the keyless entry system To unlock the driver door, enter either the factory set code or the personal code (each digit must be pressed within five seconds of the prior digit). The interior lamps will also illuminate. To unlock all doors, enter the factory set code or personal code (driver door unlocks) and press the 3/4 control within five seconds. Locking the doors with the keyless entry system It is not necessary to enter the factory or personal code prior to locking all doors. To lock the doors: • with the driver's door closed, press the 7/8 control and the 9/0 control at the same time.

Electric door locks lock and unlock all the time even if its not running


Hi:
The most likely cause of this is the power door lock control module. You can locate the fuse for the power door locks and pull that, to keep your durango secure. I am not 100% sure , but I think the module is located inside the drivers door.

My car key is stuck in the driver's side door (VW new Beetle).


I assume you have tried juggling and turn ing the key and pulling all at once>>> Type in the security code for the auto locks on the driver door panel it should release the security device in the lock that holds on to fradulent keys (some models have this some dont) if this doesnt work , try unlocing and locking the door using the controls in the car and pulling on the key to try and remove, if the key wont trun any directions remove door panel locate the locking mechinism and use a flat head screw drivce to turn the lil dial o nthe back side to and try to remove the key.. If none of these work, pull really hard straight back dont bend key on lock as it will break off!! becarefull and goold luck.....
