Question about Ford Focus
If the leak is at one of the connection points you may be able to simply tighten the connection to stop the leak. If there's a leak along the fluid line you'll need to replace it. For detailed instruction on how to do it I'd suggest you register for free at www.autozone.com This registration gives you free access to many repair manuals, user guides and shop manuals that can guide you through the repair.

The best bet is its trans oil. The gearbox has crushable washers/gaskets, the bolts may just need to be tightened slightly to crush the gasket and seal.

if it's the low pressure side i'm sure a mechanic can replace just the broken part. if it's the high pressure side, best off just to get a new hose. if not, the hose is likely to leak again on the high pressure hose if the unit isn't replaced.

Just a heads up, $10 bucks will buy you a seal kit for the P.S. pump. I topped mine off for a couple months, then the oring on the high pressure line (from pump, front center) blew and dumped the reservoir in a matter of miles.
The line can be a stinker to get off, recommend driving the car for a few minutes to heat up the pump a little. Don't forget the 20MM wrench.
