Im almost sure that my anti theft system is stopping my 1998 chevycaviler z24 from starting do i need to take it to a gm dealer

If it were my car I would definitely take it to a GM Chevy dealer to have it checked out.

If the anti theft system has kicked in to stop the car being started you might find a security warning light on the dash.

Why wont my alarm reset in my 1998 chevy blazer the security system is killing the fuel and i cant get it to run it starts and dies imeaditly

I don't think the anti-theft is the problem.
On GM vehicles, the anti-theft system will not allow the engine to crank, or get fuel or spark. If it cranks, you have a different problem.

1998 Chevy 3500 4x4 454. Will crank but will not start. Fuel pump is working and have fire to all plugs

Have a 98 would crank and run for a second.the problem was security.the ignition switch housing and module was faulty and causing the anti theft to shut off the injectors. look at that and your headlamp fuses as well as anti theft is tied to headlamp fuse
