I'm not familar with that model, but with GM cars, usually instead on metal nuts and bolts, they hold the taillights in with black plastic wingnuts, there should be 3-5 of those. Or the other thing they sometimes do is have the taillights held in by screws where the trunk lid would be when shut.

Have no users manual and i'm not sure how you would replace the light bulb on the brake light

Change the Rear Brake Lights
  • Open the trunk and twist the retaining wing nuts off the studs holding the carpeted trim cover in place on the back side of the tail lamps.
  • Pull the carpeted trim cover out of the way and pry the plastic caps out of the holes with the screwdriver tip.
  • Unbolt the nuts holding the tail-lamp assembly in place using the socket set.
  • Pull the tail lamp assembly away from the body of the Stratus. Grab the socket for the bulb in question and twist it counterclockwise to remove it. Pull the old bulb out by hand and insert the replacement bulb. Reinstall the socket in reverse of removal.
  • Push the tail lamp assembly back into position and tighten the nuts back down onto the retaining studs using the socket set. Pop the plastic caps back into the holes, pull the carpeted trim cover back into position and reinstall the plastic wing nuts. Close the trunk.

Replacing tail/brake/turn signal/backup lamp bulbs (page 59-60 of owners manual)

Sedan

The tail lamp, brake lamp, turn

signal lamp and backup lamp bulbs

are located in the same portion of

the tail lamp assembly. Follow the

same steps to replace either bulb.

1. Make sure headlamp switch is in

OFF position and open trunk and

remove two plastic mushroom nuts,

three push pins and the plastic

cover from inside the trunk to

access the lamp assembly.

2. Carefully pull the carpet away to

expose the lamp assembly hardware.

3. Remove four nut and washer

assemblies and the lamp assembly

from the vehicle.

4. Remove the bulb socket by

rotating it counterclockwise, then

pulling it out of the lamp assembly.

5. Pull the bulb from the socket and
push in the new bulb.

6. Install the bulb socket into the lamp assembly by rotating it clockwise.

7. Install the lamp assembly on the vehicle with four nut and washer

assemblies ensuring the washers on the nuts are flush with the body to

prevent water from entering the trunk.

How do I get to the back up light on a 1988 Delta 88?

  1. Most rear lamps can be accessed from inside the trunk. Open trunk and look for access past the carpet.
  2. By pulling back the carpet or removing the large plastic carpet retaining nuts, you can see the back of the light assembly.
  3. If you can reach the bulb from inside the trunk, you don't need to remove the lens assembly to replace the bulbs. But, if you can't reach the bulb and connector assembly, you may need to remove the lens assembly.
  4. If necessary, remove the tail light panel screws and the lens assembly.
  5. You can now simply turn the bulb connector assembly counterclockwise and remove it from the lens housing.
Fig. 8: Once the carpet is pulled down, you can see the retaining wingnuts which must be removed to access the rear bulbs

Tail lights do not work on a 2000 lexus rx 300 bulbs are fine, all other lights work fine

You may have a fried fuse. Look in your owners manual to find out which fuse it is in the fuse box diagram. If that is the problem make sure to use the same amperage fuse to replace the burned one with. I fried fuse is usually a sign that you have a short somewhere. But they can also fry for other reasons such as excess moisture somewhere. Sometimes they just burn from age and fatigue. It may solve it to just replace the fuse, but if there really is a short, the new fuse will fry too.

How do you remove old brake bulb

Assuming your Diamante is constructed similarly to my 03 GTZ you will need to remove your tail light assemblies in order to replace the bulb. To do this you will need to remove the carpeting on the rear wall of the trunk to access the nuts holding the assemblies on. Remove the nuts on the inside of the trunk and the assemblies will just pull off from the outside giving you access to the bulbs.

How do you replacw a rear turnsignal bulb?

Open the trunk, pull back the carpet on the rear wall of the trunk behind the tail lights. If there is access to the bulb sockets, figure out which one lines up with the turn signal and turn it counter clockwise about a quarter turn then pull it out. the bulb will either pull straight out or turn quarter turn and pull out.

If there isn't access to the bulb sockets then there will be three or four nuts or wing nuts that hold the tail lamp assembly in. Remove them and the lens. Then remove the bulb from the tail lamp lens assembly.

Inside the trunk you will have to pull back the carpet and a the carpet material behind the tail light assembly should have nuts 2-4. once these are removed the assembly can be removed from the outside. Just turn the light socket and replace the bulb.

Need to replace rear brake light on a 1999 Buick Park Avenue. How do I remove the plastic lenses or assembly?

you will need to open the trunk and remove the carpet covering the inside where the tail lights are, find 2 or 3 nuts which are probably 8 or 10 mm,so use a socket and ratchet, remove the nuts and pull the tail light asembly out from the back and you will find the tail light bulb sockets. release the little latch/lock clips while turning the socket assembly about 1/4 turn counter clockwise and you can check each bulb. watch where the wire harness for each socket and also the tail light assembly is so you dont pinch or damage the wires when putting the tail light assembly back in. your owners manual may also give you these instructions and will tell you the correct bulbs to use for tail, brake and turn signal lights.
