Really need a bit more information.does the engine sound slow or is it revving quite high as you are trying to overtake another car?slow may be a blocked fuel filter and or air filter.revving but slow moving may be a slipping clutch if it is a manual gearbox,or a worn transmission if it is an automatic(although check the fluid level while idling in park, and handbrake on firmly.)
Hope this helps,if not if you can supply some more info, then I can be more precise in diagnosis and repair

Where is the passing gear on a 2003 Mitsubishi Diamante

'Passing gear' is a term that means the transmission is down-shifted to a lower gear (e.g., from 5th gear to 4th gear) for improved acceleration to pass another vehicle. There is no physical component called a passing gear in the transmission.
To engage the 'passing gear' with an automatic transmission should require nothing more than pressing the accelerator pedal down firmly. The transmission should downshift automatically to the next lower gear (sometimes it will downshift two gear ratios, depending on your speed and how far you depress the accelerator pedal).

My 2003 chevy tahoe will not accelerate pass 30mph what could be the problem?

Your problem could be in the Transmission, but most likely it is caused by a sensor / electric part called an Accellerator-Pedal-Position-Sensor (APP-Sensor. If it is the APP Sensor, then you should be getting a signal in the information center saying "reduced power" or a Check-Engine Light.

Accelerator got stuck while passing a truck.

When you passed the truck... I guess you couldn't tell if the pedal was stuck since you were focused on braking.

When you brake, your brakes will overcome the acceleration of the car causing it to slow down, but like you describe, the second you let go of your brake, your car accelerates again.

It would sound like either the throttle pedal (gas pedal), the throttle line (connects pedal to throttle assembly) or your throttle assembly (on the engine) may be sticking....

2000 Neon (5-Speed) Transmission slips when accelerating

Your cheapest venue to take is to change the fluid and filter in the tranny. Look at the small magnet in the pan and see if there are large amounts of metal fillings(small amounts are normal) try it after reassembly. Good luck, Dana

PICKUP DOWN SHIFTS WHEN ACCELERATED

Attach a diagnostic computer to the leads on your engine.
Check the codes to confirm that the onboard computer is choosing to shift under the correct conditions.

Or, get your local Dodge dealer (before they go bankrupt) to run the computer-diagnosis.
