Hi, my engine light on my ssangyong kyron 2006, comes on and when it does, when i accelarate it goes slower, please help

If the light you are referring to is the check engine light! This generates a code when on, if the light was on then it will hold the code in the memory, if you have had the codes read then they would have been able to access the code.....what is the code? From your description it sounds like your vehicle is going into limp home mode to stop further damage, retrieve the active or saved code and this will tell you where the problem area is!

Accelarate problems

Hi, you might find that what you need to do is buy a fuel cleaning additive this goes into the fuel tank when you top your tank up this then cleans all the fuel lines and cleans all the injectors out properly doing this should solve your problem.
Once you have put it in your tank it usually takes about 30 miles of drive time to clean the whole system through it might be also worth getting the fuel filter cleaned if this has not been done recently.

Make sure you buy the correct fuel cleaner ie petrol or diesel then follow instructions on the bottle and you should find that over time this will solve your problem. I recommend to all my customers to use this about once every 6 to 8 weeks or so to ensure smooth running and maximum fuel efficiancy try and use a better brande product such as red x these tend to work better than shops own brands.

These can be brought from most petrol stations or car spare shops.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

i think your exhaust might have a leak which is heating up your oil when this happens the engine suffocates and wants to die.

My car ticks sometimes. I have gotten a oil change and continue to check the oil and it still ticks. Pretty loud sometimes.

maybe a hydraulic lifter or a central bearing.... do you hav trouble accelarating at all? if its they hydraulic lifter, you will be fine for about 90k miles and even then nothing serious will happen, its just annoying. if its the central bearing on your motor, then you will have anywhere from 0-3000 miles left until your engine shuts down on you and your car stops moving. for me it's the hydraulic lifter witch triggered the knock sensor, which is there to detect knocks for oil related problems but unfortunaetly picked up my knocking too and thus went into its "energy saving" mode and slowed accelaration down ALOT in order to protect my motor. of course since it was a hydraulic lifter, this was pointless to me. if this is your case just take it to a mechanic and pay $40 to get the knock sensor unplugged. this won't solve the knocking itself but it will allow the car to accelarate at w/e speed you want. THIS IS NOT the solution to every knocking/ticking problem. there are MANY different ones out there so the best way is to get it checked out by a mechanic.
