I bought the set lined it perfectly. double checked everything wich took forever to realign marks. this chain has 90 links 4 colored links as marks
boy its a bueatiful peice of engineering. aligning the two top marks at 12oclock like book says and pics i found on net bottom mark on oil and crack aligned with mark on chain i turned cam book says counterclockwise
(wich cant be done because cam lines 1 way)i found that the #1 intake valve is open almost half way both should be closed.i thought cam off checked it 12 pins between and marks match chain on cams 12oclock.
im at a loss the engine stumbles when starting with throttle half open here spitting and clinging wich i know is backfire throu intake and valve hitting.
since ive allready most likely bent the valve im going in deeper with timming doing it old fashion and seeing if chain marks is wrong or wrong chain. setting tdc #1 and turning cam on #1 till both valves are closed and setting this sprocket here this will set tdc and #1 valve correctly and putting other cam inplace now if i start and it spits does anything but run im going to part store and someone getting a $500 plus tail chewin.and they can give me the right chain and the valves i bent installing the chain they sold me. lol any suggestions why this happened or why even chrylser would aproved this junk oh engine. over 2000 dollars in rebuild and wouldnt make a good boat anchor it all aliminum
