Civic EX 1997 D16Y8 fuel economy problem (waisting fuel)

The most typical thing to go out that will waste fuel is O2 sensors. They can be marginal where they will not throw a code but will not be efficent. You can test the operation with a good scan tool or just buy two new ones. Also buy a can of "Seafoam" and dump it in your tank next fill up

Do 2006 suzuki forenzas have fuel filters that need to be replaced

Fuel filter, not applicable unless you are changing the fuel pump, this is known as a strainer or fuel sock. A lot of newer cars, 2004 and up have done away with the in line fuel filters. Sugest using a fuel injector cleaner, I use Seafoam, pricey but worth it

Can or does the fuel pump need to be primed. the previous owner had major issues after running out of fuel. he changed the fuel pump. he had the tank dropped twice before he had fuel at the filter inlet.I...

after replacing a fuel pump or working on a sending unit you will have to prime the fuel pump on efi cars by turning the key on and off about 6 times and letting the pressure build. that is if the fuel pump is working

When giving gas, seems like the car is not getting gas. I am guessing either gas filter or gas line may be clogged? Maybe computer chip, not sure?

add a can of SEAFOAM(parts store) to tank of Premium fuel, and change fuel filter. EGS(ethanol gas syndrome) is affecting a lot of vehiles. It will clog lines, injectors, and filters. It also dumps water in lines, and can harm fuel pump. Try this, and add a can of SF every 3-5000 miles and it will cleans valves, fuel parts. emission and much more. best stuff invented for the corn gas we have to buy now. It sounds simple, but in the 20+ years of business, I've never seen anything like it. Good luck.

Bogs down on acceleration

buy 2 fuel filters. buy can of SEAFOAM at parts store. use 1 f filter to replace old one(you'll probably see old looking gas, with an odor).Pour SEAFOAM into tank. fill up with PREMIUM gas. after about 100 miles change out fuel filter 1 last time..add SEAFOAM every 3-5000 miles and you should be fine. the ethanol in the gas turns to goop and adds water to your fuel, and puts carbon on your valves and through out your emission and fuel system. The ethanol will be alright as long as you follow these instructions. and the SEAFOAM will keep you from having line freeze up in the cold months ahead, and will give you better gas mileage. good luck.

go the cheapest route. replace fuel filter and add SEAFOAM to tank of premiun fuel. replace filter before 500 miles. then add SEAFOAM to gas every 3000 miles to keep lines.engine, fuel pump, and emissions systems clean, ETHANOL problem number 3000

92 chevy 1500 5.7 tbi starts and dies. replaced fuel pump and filter, tbi, iac, and tps, still has same problem. fuel spray seems weak at injectors. could it be the module in distrbutor?

Try using a good fuel line/injector cleaner Seafoam is a good one. If this does not help you may have tone or more clogged injectors. Clean these out and you should be good to go. tTo see Seafoam in action goto you tube type Seafoam into the search box.
